Hypnotherapy involves deep relaxation and working into the subconsious. So far, it has been of great help to me. The downfall is that it has to be done by someone especially qualified or specialized in that.

Well, it sounds as though you have been doing it, or have tried it. But you mentioned a downfall-- may I ask-- who has been doing it? I agree with your thoughts on hypnotherapy-- it can be an amazing journey into the subconscious.

My T does hypnotherapy with me, and yes I do love it. It helps me relax and it helps me understand more about me. My trauma T puts me into a meditation state before we start our work each session and that also helps me relax and open my thoughts up.

I had my T make a tape of one of our hypnosis for relaxation sessions, I use it at home often and I am able to put myself into hypnosis for relaxation and healing and bring myself back up out of it.

Do you have a problem with who you are working with in hypnotherapy?

I know very little about hypnotherapy, but recently I came across an organization, the National Guild of Hypnotists (U.S.) at

http://www.ngh.net

that will do referrals to therapists in your area. The guild is supposed to be reliable.

The NGH is the oldest and largest hypnosis organization in the world. They have members is just about every country, yet the majority of their members are in the US.

If you have questions about hypnosis I would be happy to answer them.

There was a long running thread on this forum last year that I started about Hypnotherapy. If you go back into the archives you may find it there.
