Agreed that it was brave, Chihiro, and I'm sorry you feel so awful now. I've mentioned to Dr. T that I've had fantasies about him, but didn't give any sort of details. I did share a somewhat erotic/romantic dream a few months ago, but he doesn't put that much stock in dreams, so it wasn't much of a thing to him (though it was to me).

Woke up without a hangover, thank goodness. (I only had two glasses of beer but it doesn’t take much to get me intoxicated.)

I am just dreading this week of work. Starting the day with Starbucks as a good mood bribe.

Liz switched our in person session to a telehealth session yesterday because she started to feel ill a couple of hours before session. We were generally alternating in person and telehealth every other week, but that made three telehealth sessions in a row (she had some kind of conflict less week) and she's off all week next week for Thanksgiving. I'm frustrated and disappointed but not terribly so. So that feels kind of nice because I would have probably be despondent a few years ago. Or maybe my expectations are just incredibly low now because of how disruptive the pandemic has been to pretty much everything this year. I just hope it's a cold or something rather than COVID. So very many people I know have it right now.

Just got caught in a down pour during a dog walk. And now two wet dogs are glomming on me demanding more towel.

Well, minion? Get to it.

Lone dog, bless his little heart, happily went on a five-mile walk with me this morning.

I had a restless night and at some point I ordered a Nintendo Switch Lite. Why, I don’t know. Best I can figure from my browser history is I was thinking of a game I used to play on PS4, LA Noire, that is on the Switch. 2ex had the PS4 (which I bought) when I dumped him, so he kept it (while insisting I return any of his stuff). Then of course he claimed homelessness, though as someone on here pointed out to me, you can’t call yourself homeless if you have a PS4.

To be honest, I miss the books of mine he has much more than the PS4.

But anyway, what can I do with a Switch Lite (eta: other than return it)? Amazon knowing a sucker when they see one, it’s already shipped. Please don’t say Animal Crossing, it doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest.

Initiate a return on Amazon. Take it to UPS store and they’ll ship it back for you. No box needed. They’ll package it for free.

I had a migraine last night and in insomniac headache delirium ordered 3 hats on amazon. I don’t need three hats. I need a specific color one to match my coat. UPS here I come

I wonder how much of Amazon’s business is insomnia-related?

Or drunk-ordering!

Maybe see what other games are available for it? I don't know much about the Switch except that Dr. T was very heavily pushing me to get one for D a few months ago, to the point that I was starting to wonder if he got a kickback from Nintendo (like he talked about it in multiple sessions). I know there are lots of adult games, too.

I bought a Switch about 2 years ago just to see if I would like game-y sorts of things. I don't understand the point of animal crossing/stardew valley games. I tried and I both don't understand the rules nor what the point of the game is. I do like some of the low level (like the ones for 7 yr olds) shooter games/pong type games/word games/mario kart racing games
for passing some time.

What kind of games do you generally like, @@? What genres? Or what features/aspects of games you have played before?

Ooooh definitely worth considering a game called Breath of the Wild. It’s gorgeous and so much fun. Look it up on YouTube to see if it suits.

Puzzle games (either straight puzzles or with an interesting plot like Syberia), old-school RPG (think Wizardry not Elder Scrolls), logic games, word games, hidden objects, some baseball games (that involve strategy more than hitting home runs). I liked Journey on the PS4, so world-exploring. Sid Meier's Pirates! LA Noire was good for me because it had an overall plot with individual episodes, character, puzzles, shooting, and driving (I terrorized the streets of 1947 LA).

Don't care much about graphics, except I don't like cartoonish graphics. No graphics is also fine--the first game I really enjoyed was Colossal Cave Adventure.

Games based on real-life simulations like the Sims stress me out, and I'm not a fan of point-and-shoot. Also can't get much into world-building games like Civilization.

I really liked Let's go Pikachu but probably that's mostly because I loved pokemon as a child. Legend of Zelda is great (any of the games really, Breath of the Wild was the last I played so not sure about the newer ones but older ones were always good), Super Smash Bros or Fortnite if you're into multiplayer games. Mario Kart is always good too.

I've heard good things about Tetris 99, if that's a game that appeals to you. Doom Eternal is a great first person shooter, if you're into that.

The games I like the best were the wii games. I was hoping the switch would be a little more wii-ish

I am not messing with you - but can you tell me the point of the Zelda ones - like what is supposed to be accomplished?
I wanted to get caught up in a game like Zelda but never managed to find one that I understood.

The goal of the game is always more or less the same:
You start out with little gear, in some random storyline of 'please safe the world'. You then have to defeat various dungeons (usually those involve some puzzles, the discovery of new gear or new skills and some fighting including a boss fight) until you progress the storyline enough to defeat the final boss.
Not all of the games I've played have been the same amount of fun. For Breath of the Wild, I found it far too easy and I didn't like to solve puzzles that involve motion control with the switch or whatever that's called... controlling a ball by moving the whole console. But some of the boss fights were quite challenging.
For older ones, on the gameboy mostly, the puzzles were quite hard to figure out sometimes and I've still not completed at least one of those games. And the boss fights were more challenging.

I have drunk ordered stuff before. Usually Kindle books. It's too easy to just one-click order them on my phone

My wife has more varied game experience than me, and she said you might like Octopath Traveler, which is a turn-based Japanese RPG. It has a demo so you can download and try it for free. She suggests looking at Forgotton Anne. And she also said Cat Quest is "fun as he11."

This isn't a Switch Game, but I also think you might like Her Story (available on Windows, Mac, and Android). It's a mystery based on video clips, and it's pretty neat. (Be careful about reviews because there might be spoilers.)
