I am going to try my 11th T since I left my last on that I had for 6 years. This last one was new. He was way too cheery and saying how great his life was and how he had his dream job. Then he was in a room where people were coming in and out and he would stop therapy to talk to them. So I saw my pdoc and he wants me to find no less than a PhD or PsyD with 10-15 years of experience. That is a tough order especially ones that take insurance. Plus I would prefer a woman which narrow it down even more.

You didn't even have a private room for sessions? That sounds like a nightmare. It sounds like you made the right choice in leaving.
Thanks for this!

I have an appt Tuesday. Then one in a month and still waiting to here back from one more. It is hard to find an doctorate level T with 10-15 years experience and that takes insurance.

I agree with the experience but not with the PhD requirement. I have seen someone with a PhD that did not help me at all while my current LPCC-S has helped me tremendously.
Thanks for this!

I agree that the doctorate seems like a strict requirement, particularly if insurance is also a requirement. (My T has a PhD and has been very helpful, but doesn't take insurance. And from searches I've done, at least in my area, PhD T's seem less likely to take insurance and also tend to charge higher rates. Mine has a sliding scale though (and gives me a discount), so could that be a possibility for you? And I'd say to look into experienced LCSWs as well. And LCPCs. Does your pdoc have any suggestions for a T for you? Presumably they would have some connections/knowledge about Ts that are skilled in particular areas.
