I'm tired. I want to go home and sleep but I should either go home and shower or go home and clean my room. Neither of which I want to do.

Like the Dark Ages?

Im like, this is what we get for getting rid of all the journalism schools. Why is nobody reporting what happened? Why was no one there?

Hmmph, so Info sent me a card at my mother’s, probably because I mailed her my condolence card from that address. I’m sure it’s just a thank you for the card, but in the picture my mother sent Info has personalized stationery with lots of religious quotes on the envelope.

I can only hope it is due to an unfortunate combination of grief/bad selection of note cards. I would probably assume something innocuous due to grief.
I would find this sort of thing unsettling. The first woman was jewish so pretty safe there. The second one appears to be becoming more attached to a somewhat not mainstream xtain religion according to mutual acquaintances (who do not know I hired her).

Info also belongs to a somewhat non-mainstream xian church (I found out which one in her husband’s obituary), one of the ones that sometimes gets called a cult. There’s some religious stuff in her office.

Very early on I made it clear religion was a taboo subject unless I brought it up, and she’s honored that, so as far as I’m concerned she can do what she wants the other 161 hours of the week. Besides, she seems like a pretty decent person.

Anyway, I see her next week, so I am not concerned about the card. Just surprised by the obvious evangelicism on the envelope.

Except for like 2 of my parent's friends from deep south, I would be surprised to get anything like that from anyone I would be acquainted with. I have no trouble with someone believing a religion if they want to for whatever reason they may have for doing so, unless they want to bother me with it. I just always think it is odd to have it on stuff other than at church.
The second woman, assuming what she said was not a lie, was an ex-catholic who got into this one when she married her second husband who taught at a religious college and wrote religious tracts.

Being home with my landlady in this pandemic is orders of magnitude better than living with my parents in this pandemic. Restrictions where I live are tolerable because my government loosened them. So I can still have in person medical appointments and now can have social gatherings up to 8.

I feel for all of you with harsher restrictions.

I decided to ask my boss for January 25th off as a vacation day.

It is the anniversary of
Possible trigger:
so it is sort of celebratory.
Possible trigger:
I decided I really don't want to spend that day at work. There's nothing much I can do outside of work because of the pandemic, but maybe go for a ride up to the mountains and have a picnic, or drive down to the beach and just walk along the sand. Or maybe just sit at home and veg out on TV. Anything would be better than being at work that day. I see T two days before that day and I'm sure she will have some ideas on what I could do to celebrate. I can't wait to hear them. If it was a normal year I could go to Disneyland. But stupid Covid. I can't.

I want to honor the therapeutic and emotional work I've been doing this past year. And I want to celebrate the day. I think it's important.

But now for the ever important permission to take the day off.

There is someone who can back the both of us up......and her teammate should be back in the office by then. He's out because of Covid also. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Plus I really need a break from work. I'm feeling overwhelmed. I don't think I am overwhelmed so much because of work. I think it's emotional and tied to the schizoaffective disorder. But I keep not wanting to come to work and wanting to call out. So when I feel like that usually if I take a day off, it helps me to "reset." I hope that makes sense to someone.

I don't know if he will grant the request because the person I am the backup for is out of the office due to Covid and Pneumonia.

I am so proud of you for asking for what you need, Kit. Even if you aren't successful, it's a big step.

Today in awkward therapy conversations, telling my T why I have sort of mixed feelings about his getting the vaccine tomorrow. One was the fact that right now, he's sort of in a similar place as me (fearing COVID, etc.). I said I was worried he'd become less empathetic. Dr. T: "You're afraid I'm going to go back to being an a**hole again?" Me: "Well, not just yet. Though we did address that fear before...."
