![]() Eta - prejudices die hard! Mental health carers have not had parity for SO LONG, that even WE think of them as "less than". Fascinating. Last edited by unaluna; Jan 19, 2021 at 07:52 PM. |

You can't possibly be surprised that I consider them less than. It is because they are.

I have a old dressing table/ vanity/duchess whatever younwant to call it i am trying to sell and no one is interested i have had it on gumtree since before christmas with very negotiable as the price. I justbwant to ge trid of it as its taking up space in the lounge room. It was my daughters given to her by the ex who is convinced its a family heirloom even though it has $350 written in sharpie on the back. This woman came to see it seemed very interested, took photos said she would talk to her husband and daughter and would get back to me in a couple of days but she also said if someone else was interseted i could sell it. Does that mean she really doent want it? Maybe i shouldnt worry about these things but i can never interpret wht people say anyway. Should i contact her after a couple of days?

Sorry for some reason i am panicking about all sorts of stupid stuff. I think it was after the dream of when i was at work and broke a syringe pump when i was lowering a patients bed but in the dream the pump just disintergrated when it hit the floor.

Its only been a few years since mental health care got parity in insurance, thats what im referring to. But we still think of it as less than. But legally, it no longer is. |

I mean, I'm morally uncomfortable about getting the vaccine early. I don't have to be in the classroom this semester, after all, and I have no students in class in one class and a maximum of six in-person in the other. I'm probably safer in the classroom than in the supermarket. So, hospital psychiatrist or social worker, yeah, vaccine. Info...I don't see it. On the other hand, we should be vaccinating people (even therapists) as much as possible. |

I must say as an ex nurse the last time i was hospitalised the way i was treated was shocking. I nearly bled to death and the first thing that it is mentioned at the nurse handover, which was conducted at the nedside and not very confidential at all, was the fact that i was bipolar and then another nurse said why isnt she in the pych unit and then it went down hill from there. Because of my disability i cant walk without something on my feet but was denied having my scuffs on as they were a slip hazard. Inwas trying to explain why i need ed them, theynare definitely not a slip hazard, i was forcibly man handled into a comode chair. I am appalled as i was taught to respect the patient and listen to wht they said. I will never go to my local hospital ever again after that and way i was teated in thenpsych ward and my ex was forgotten about in the psych ward when we were still sort of together. Of course a patient isnt going to get better if you dont give them medication. I had to ask for a list of his meds and they hadnt even been giving him his anti depressants. Honestly they said we cant work out why he still so depressed!

Haha.
G&S aside, given that therapists as a group are an aging demographic, they should probably be vaccinated for that reason alone. ![]() Young men, despair... ![]() |

Therapists are like Erma Bombeck's coat hangers. They reproduce themselves constantly.

That depresses me. And there are insects I think they are more like. A coat hanger is far too innocuous.

Yeah, I imagine it's way too complicated to figure out whether a doctor or T is seeing patients/clients in person right now. Also, Dr. T said he may resume seeing some clients in person about a month after he gets the second dose. He's said before that there were certain clients he couldn't really work with virtually. Maybe it's a similar case with Info? Like with the EMDR, that's difficult (if not impossible? not sure) to do virtually. Dr. T doesn't do that, but he works with some teens, so maybe they don't have any privacy at home, for example. |

I regard it as one of the great tragedies of life that Erma Bombeck died before Twitter became a thing. She would have been awesome at it.
I think they were my grandparents’ books. But yes, I read several. |

I decided to postpone my internal retake exam to march. I do feel a bit deflated, but I knew I wasn't ready for it. I still feel ashamed about it and like I don't measure up to everyone else in my group who have already got it out of the way.
Going to focus on gynecology on the 8th of feb. Think I'm also going to cancel the extra session with R.

The place my son works is considered an essential business so he's eligible to get his during the 1B phase. I'm assuming because they manufacture so many different kinds of parts for all kinds of businesses (hospitals included). I haven't heard if he's gotten his yet, I think i'll text him later today and ask. He thinks he already had covid anyway a year ago, he and his gf both, before it was even that rampant in the states. egads - it's already been a year?! H I think is in group 1C. It will probably be summer or later before i can get mine.

I am completely happy to let others get the vaccine first and watch for longer term reactions. I have no idea where I fall. I have friends who are in the process of getting it.

I've read that they recommend people get the vaccine even if they've already had COVID because they don't know how long immunity will last from having had it. I thought H and I may have had it back in February (he had traveled to New York City by train, attended an NHL game, and had a weird, flu-like illness shortly after, and I had a more minor version). I tested negative for antibodies a couple months ago, but he hasn't gotten tested yet. We'll be in the last group to get the vaccine. Our parents may be eligible within the next month though (all 70 or older). |
