Honestly, I think it was 50/50 fault-wise. She was sort of stopping and going in an attempt to merge, which is confusing to the drivers behind her. But also the guy who rear ended her should have been sure that she was actually going to go before pressing on the gas.

Fortunately, though, the insurance company deemed that it was not her fault.

It is the back driver's job to be back far enough to accommodate the driver ahead.
That is not to say a front driver can't do something deliberately provocative to get past the general rule. Deliberateness was not in the initial discussion

Take the advice about getting rear ended it being the back cars fault even if you slam on the brakes with a grain of salt. This happened to me years ago when ex was driving my car and he slammed on the brakes because a car full of people were harassing us in a parking lot. Neither insurance would cover the damage to my car when I told the truth about what happened.

Yeah, I think the "rear ender is always at fault" rule depends on the assumption that the front driver is acting reasonably. Which most of the time they are, but there's always exceptions like your ex.

Possible trigger:
They (the blood sucking vampires as I call them) the blood drive people called me today and talked me into it. SO I have an appointment for Sunday. They said it takes 2 hours. Sheesh! I guess it usually takes like 45 minutes to do
Possible trigger:
so I guess that's not too bad.

On the positive side, they do a Covid-antibodies test so I guess I will find out if I have had Covid.

Tonight I have to drive and figure out where the donation center is. I've always done the pop up ones before.

My week of working live chat is done for the month. And no 6th day again this week. Yeah! We got off easy this year as far as OT goes, not having to work our 6th day 2 weeks in a row. I hope we don't have to work next week's 6th day too, but I won't know til late next week. The extra daily time isn't too bad when I get a normal weekend. I think I'm going to work on that afghan some more again this evening. Tomorrow morning I get my shoulder xray, then see L at 1pm.

I'm going to sleep good tonight I think, knowing that Penny is safe & sound and that I will be nice and warm with our new bedroom window in place (I didn't pay attention last night cuz I was worried about Miss P). I looked at it yesterday morning with the blinds taken down and I couldn't believe how broken it was - I think the only reason it didn't collapse in on itself is that it had the fake separate-panes look, you know with the wood cross-pieces attached to the glass? i don't know what that's called. The old window (likely 30+ years old) seemed so thin.

Muntins for the wood crosspieces. My mother is slightly obsessed with muntins. She has put fake cardboard ones on windows that don’t have the wood ones.

I am finally making the chocolate cookies with salted caramel chips I’ve been planning for a week and they are omigod good.

Couch poll - if you go to an md and they tell you that there is nothing wrong (this has not happened to me) = are you relieved that you are okay or pissed that you bothered to check?

It doesn’t really apply because I only mention stuff to a doctor if I’m really sure something is wrong. So I’ve always been right that something is wrong.

Pissed that I bothered. I've had a love hate relationship with doctors for years. It's either "let's do thousands of dollars worth of testing and multiple specialists" or "take 800mg ibuprofen around the clock for 30 days, then come back to follow up."

Its only happened once that dr didnt think i was as sick - bronchials - as i knew i was. So i was mad cuz i had to go back to get a stronger antibiotic. Not something i wanted to do WHEN I WAS SO SICK!!!

Plus - if you would just let me examine you, im sure we could get this all cleared up!

Now I’m confused—mullions and muntins sound a lot alike. Has my mother been faking mullions and not muntins all these years?

The vaccine side effects are here—chills. Feels like after my flu shot. Hot bath time.

No. You cant fake mullions, they are architectural and separate window sets.

I would be pissed and not relieved. I don't really go all overboard getting worked up about diseases that I might have. But when you look at the lists of why they THINK people won't deal with them and why, for example, I don't - it is not because of their pathetic guesses

I suppose when I got the celiac diagnosis I felt fine, it was my annual bloodwork that flagged a possible issue.

I wouldn't be pissed- think it's better to be safe. The last doctor I saw was around 6 years ago though and I needed antibiotics.

Depends on whether I feel they are correct. Once went to a doctor who said there's nothing wrong while there clearly was something going on. Then I'd be pissed, but because of the incompetency. If they do their work properly and it turns out to be nothing, I think I'd be relieved.

Today has claws. I don't know why I am trying to work when I am struggling to put a sentence together. I have nothing meaningful to do, so I could just take today off. There are people who don't believe in trauma anniversaries, but mine won't let go of me.

I don't generally go to the doctor unless I'm pretty certain something is wrong, so it doesn't usually happen that way. Now, sometimes I go in unsure if what I am experiencing is "normal" for my age or other health issues (like, I have some nagging issues from lack of a gallbladder - they are bothersome but "typical"). I'm not at all bothered if they reassure me that I what I am experiencing is just my lot (sometimes that's just the case).
