Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy.

Uh, 224 - apparently it's a thing.

Ahh. Scrambled eggs and tater tots with a little bit of cheese. I feel better already just smelling it. I added basil, savory seasoning, and a little sage. Mmm.

You're allowed to have negative emotions too and I don't think you're having a pity party.

You're going through a lot. Not being able to sleep is super tough.

When are you seeing L next?

I have to say that somemores were the most disappointing thing ever on my first camping outing. I like graham crackers okay, and maybe one tiny charred marshmallow is okay alone, and chocolate is okay in tiny amounts -but put together they become a hot sticky indecipherable slab of goo that can burn you. Something a frozen mandarin orange has never been accused of being. Worry not about waste - I was in the decided minority and my share was quickly gobbled up by others. As no one asked to share a frozen fruit bite - all were happy. The parents despaired a bit (well one of mine did and one of the other kid's did) because of me being odd, but once they found a bag of frozen fruit (we were in a back yard - I was young) I was happy and wasn't hurting anyone so eventually the authorities let it pass.

Those jerks get all worked up thinking clients lie to them, but A 2012 study of nearly 1,900 physicians published by Health Affairs⁴ found that:

One-third of doctors felt that they shouldn’t share serious medical errors with a patient.
Nearly 40% of doctors surveyed did not disclose to patients their financial relationship with drug or medical device companies.
More than 55% of doctors said they often or sometimes describe a patient's condition in a more positive light than what the facts suggest.

Watch them before handing your life over to them

Today is the best my shoulder has felt in a long time. I bought some new ibuprofen not long ago because dr told me to try taking that but only every other day. I already had some but wanted to use it up before I opened the new bottle. Well apparently what I had on hand must have been old and not working anymore. I took the new stuff this morning after my breakfast and I feel not even a tiny twinge of pain in my shoulder today. I don't even care that I have a cold. As a bonus, my headache (from the cold) is gone too.

I'm surprised they come in bottles there, Artie. We tend to have that kind of thing in blister packs here. You learn something new every day.

As a public service, I need to share the hoodie Dr. T was wearing today (working from home because it was snowing). Because I think at least some would find it amusing. I'd seen him in it before, but only saw the "All Day" part. Today I was like, "OK, what does it say under 'All Day'?" Please note: This is not a pic of Dr. T, of course!

I decided this morning that as much as I like how my hair looks this long, it's so thick that when it gets this long it's hard to take care of, that it's time to get it cut again. Been over a year I think. Friday morning I'm gonna get about 4 inches taken off, I think. Maybe more. Actually they're open late enough, I may just go today after work!!

Im gonna try to cut mine into an A-line bob, which is a style ive lusted after for close to 60 years? Take sd's rants against the medical profession, and apply them to my DYSappointments (little pun there) with every hairdresser ever, except once, the first time i had it cut close.
Thanks for this!

I went and got it cut, and I love the results. She took off the 4 inches I guessed at, all the raggedy stuff at the ends. I will place this here briefly.

Well we just drove by the house, enough to see it won't work for us. Onward.

Cousin and her partner have COVID. They’ll likely be fine, mild symptoms, but my cousin saw my mother very briefly Saturday morning to drop something off, before developing symptoms and getting tested. I’m sure my mother is fine, but I’m still a bit worried.

The one and only time I attempted to cut my own hair did not go well so I have never tried it again!
