Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy.

225 - per the urban dict., someone who will believe you if you tell them 2+2=5.

Good choice. That doll should come with a full matrix styled coat.

I'd want the limited edition SD figure with the back to the future theme + the Delorean car.

When do you see your normal T next?

Anyway I've forgiven you now: Re the title I thought it was a Orwell ref. I'm in a Game of thrones audiobook phase at the moment.

Hugs. I see her in 2 weeks. Oral surgery under general anesthesia in less than a week, so it's a really bad time for this trauma stuff.

I'm staying mostly indoors and being as careful as possible. Burned myself by accident when cooking because it's really hard to stay grounded. It's like the flashbacks are a translucent veil over my eyes, if I make sense.

I sent T an email and I hope she replies. She better omfg.

It's quite hard to reorient this new alter and various things about them are personally triggering to me. They're definitely a trauma holder.

I'm also wondering if I should block my sister because I'm...recovering memories of her and they're not pleasant. It's probably a good thing she's been ignoring me ever since I asked her not to rant to me about our parents.

Hugs. It does help to know the couch is a safe place to vent a bit.

A friend sent me some money to get ice cream after my wisdom tooth surgery.

Couch poll: what are your favourite lactose free ice cream brands? I hate fruit flavours though!

D's school team is awesome--her occupational therapist just emailed to say how well she did with her today in person (working on handwriting). She never wanted to do the online OT meetings. It's nice getting little updates like that. (For the past year, I could tell how school was going because it was virtual.)

Are you in any groups specifically for DID, maybe they would have more resources to help with the flashbacks.

Maybe you could also archive and mute all of her chats, so they won't be visible. I normally take a while to get back to most people anyway.

Thanks for the new couch unaluna. Kit takes a fluffy pink pillow and picks a spot in the corner, feet curled up beneath her.

I'm less mad at T today. Yesterday I was furious. Now my anger has cooled and I'm just left somewhat bewildered. Of course, if I actually told her this she would be thrilled that I had the experience of being furious. Eye roll. She always wants me to get mad. Sometimes I think they (T's) bait you on purpose.

Sorry if you've already posted, but what happened with your T?

I've heard of that before, but do T's really do that on purpose? It just sounds like an excuse for a bad T.

When my aunts went to America they bought us back T-shirts. My brother wants to recreate a photo of him from when he was 9. I found the same shirt he's wearing on Amazon.

My oldest had oral surgery today, her first time under anesthesia, and came home a little. . . emotional. Nothing fun like those people post on social media, but full on crying, sobbing and inconsolable. Put her to bed with a cat, she turned on The Aristocats and fell asleep around halfway through.

Can't even razz her over the choice of movie, it's a favorite of mine.

QM, good luck with yours, be safe.

The first time I had oral surgery to remove some mouth and jaw tumors was the first time I discovered the joys of codeine. And then I discovered how crappy it felt to be off of codeine. Yeah, no more codeine for me. I had opted for "twilight" for that surgery so not too much loopiness. My sis was around then and she kept track of when the next dose of medications was those first couple of days.
