Hi, I used to post here a long time ago when I was in the deep with attachment to my therapist.

Saw Therapist A for 7 years. Twice a week for 6 of those years. Ungodly attached. T didn't like my attachment. I initiated end after rupture. She didn't stop me and didn't guide any termination.

Saw Therapist B for 1.5 years after end with A. Started to help cope with loss of A. Moved onto other things. I initiated a break/end 5 months ago.

Cut to today where I am going through acute issues due to family member on death's door. Reached out but neither or them will see me to help.

This has me spiraling more. Especially the stuff with T A. Bringing up so many bad memories and feelings.

Idk if I have it in me to go through this all over again with another therapist. I don't want to get attached to another therapist .

Just venting and feeling sorry for myself.

Ow, that is hurtful. Did they explain why they wouldn't be able to see you? Although, for me, the reason (even if it was logical and understandable) would not necessarily ease the hurt.

Hugs, I'm sorry, both about the therapists and your family member. I'm curious as to the reason they gave why they couldn't see you. I know therapists are pretty booked right now because of more demand with the pandemic (my therapist, for example, said he has taken on more clients than he normally see in a week due to the high demand in our area). Is it possible that it isn't about you at all, but that their schedule is booked solid? That being said, it seems like, for a former client, they should be able to find a spot to squeeze you in.

I am merely speculating here (as you did not provide this info) but I think therapist A not wanting to see you would make sense if your strong attachment scared them, and they were ill-equipped to deal with that. I wonder about therapist B though, as you did not seem to have any 'issues' with them. Maybe they're busy what with the increased demand nowadays.
Thanks for this!
