I have tried, for the first time, cooking pudding on the stove. Lemon pudding--it did taste like lemon meringue filling when I licked the stirring spoon.

Egg-white omelet for dinner here (because cooking the pudding required separated egg yolks).

ETA: that was also my first egg-white omelet and I’m a fan now.

Why do people who claim the right to freedom of speech **** all over other people's freedom of speech by attacking them?

I thought i had left a local fb group and so i joined one with the same name. Turns out there they both have the same name and similar cover photos its just that one is monitired by the admins and the other is not. In the unmoderated one there was post about mandatory mask wearing and the usual 'its just the flu' brigade started attacking the mask wearers claiming freedom of speech. I tried to report the post as harrasment then i realised i was in the wrong group.
Eta then the admin attacked me

I got my federal income tax return today. Went right into savings. That felt good.

Also, it didn't even take very long. I just got my taxes done on March 22nd!

The EDD (unemployment) department is so messed up in CA. Last year we were on work share where you work a few days a week for your employer and then unemployment pays you a reduced benefit for the time you missed. I'm caught up on my payments but some of my coworkers are still getting payments. They get the payment one day and go to withdraw the payment the next day only to be told that the money isn't there. Someone in another city withdrew the funds. There is so much fraud happening, it's ridiculous. It's happened to at least two of my coworkers (out of 12). I'm really aghast at how this has been handled. My coworkers just get told there is an investigation, but no way to say they will get their money back!

Crap crap crap crap crap

I told my BF a messed-up thing about my childhood* and now I'm freaking out.

We were ever-so-slightly drunk and giggly because we'd taken an online beer tasting class and had about a bottle of beer each (which is more than either of us usually drink). And we were hanging out in bed, laughing about how we had completely opposite childhoods when it came to sex ed (he grew up in the Middle East and I grew up in a super liberal part of the US). I mentioned the messed-up thing and he said, "what?! That's awful! That must have been traumatic," and put his arms around me. And I had been laughing, but him saying that sort of brought me to the awfulness of it (and also the awfulness of other messed up stuff that happened) and all of a sudden it wasn't funny anymore. And he was falling asleep and I kept my head buried in his chest and felt like crying and I both wanted him to notice and didn't want him to notice because I didn't want to be alone with it but also I didn't want to contaminate him with my messed-up-ness or make him have to deal with my big trauma feelings when he was just trying to fall asleep, the poor bastard. And I was sort of snuffling into his shoulder and he woke up and said, "what's wrong? Are you crying?" And he sleepily put his hands on my face and tilted my head so I would look him in the eye. And I said, "I just got stuck thinking about some bad things." And he put his arms around me and said, "try not to think about the bad things, please, babe" and drifted off again.

I shouldn't have told him. We've only been together for four months; wtf was I thinking?

Moreover, I hate how ambivalent I am about talking about it because it is so effing BPD to be like, "I just dropped this tuth-bomb but no wait now I can't tell you any more about it nevermind but I also can't stop having big feelings about it so now I'm just messed up and sad but can't talk about it or get over it I'm just stuck and now you're stuck with a girlfriend who is in no-fun-trauma-mode."

I hate myself so much right now.

Hugs, Chihiro. It sounds like he handled what you said OK and that he was trying to be supportive. I don't get the sense he'll freak out about it. Maybe check in with him to see how he's feeling about it? I've done things like that before after confessing something to a partner (well, to anyone really, friend, a T...). And I find it can help. Like, "I'm really freaked out about what I told you, that I shared too much" or something to that effect, and see what he says. If he says he's not freaked out (or that you're welcome to talk about it more), do your best to believe him and take him at his word.

And your triggered item is really messed up... I'm sorry you deal with that.

Normally, I'd ask if you were still seeing your T and when you see him next, but he's really messed up handling some stuff with your BF, so might not be the best to talk to about this. Unless you found a new one?

C In my head I don't think you should have to hide who you really are or everything you've been through and be the ideal version of yourself. I don't think you did anything wrong. You won't contaminate him, by telling the truth either. Your trauma still affects you and the BPD does shape your reactions. I think he handled it well. You deserve a understanding partner, not one who will make you feel bad because of your mental health.

I had an hour long meeting on Inventory. UGH. At least it was F2F and not Zoom! Luckily afterward I had chocolate cake and milk! It was to celebrate the March Birthdays. We don't have anyone with a March birthday that works in the CA office, there are some that work in the NY office. The GM asked me what kind of cake and I said chocolate of course!

It's probably not a good time for me to bring up my biennial mention of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 in Boston...turns out, molasses can move quite quickly when it's under pressure.

And speaking of pressure, I really need to do some SIM card shopping. Really really need to.

Got to see Dr. T's cat again today during session. No cat butt this time, just tail and head. He was petting her for a bit. Hadn't seen any Dr. T animals in months. That's one thing I'll miss being back in person, the little glimpses into his outside life at times he was working from home. But maybe he'll bring Fish back the office if she's still alive? At I suspect he might work from home/virtually on occasion if inclement weather or he's not feeling well or something.

Oh, and he said he expects to be back in person around mid-May, that he thinks his wife will be able to get her first shot in the next week (or I guess only if she gets J&J), so that would put her at full immunity by then. He said a few clients were really pushing him to go back in person. I asked if he considered me one of them (I've just asked on occasion), and he said no, that I just seem more curious vs. pushing him.
