I Found out today that my therapist will be off for another couple weeks to 4 weeks. They are offering CBT groups on zoom in the mean time for her clients to have extra support. I honesty don't think CBT group is going to do much for me when I am losing focus all the time and my mood is so low.

The good thing is my day program will be opening up more with in the next week so maybe that will help. I just feel scared that she will not return and I will have to start over with an other therapist who may not have training in trauma, PTSD

Oh no Cheryl! I'm so sorry for this news! At least you had some contact with the staff or something and you know how long to expect but that's small consolation. I hope the day program will be helpful to you in the meantime. HUGS Kit

The day program is at the clinic where my therapist is so all the staff kinda know what is going on and it's very helpful. It's really difficult to know how I feel right now. I have a bunch of mixed emotions right now. I am glad to have this forum for support it really helps to know im not alone.

That's what happened with my therapist 2 years ago. I was about 2 months into working with her, she caught pneumonia, and it was "she'll be back in a month"..."she'll be back in 2 weeks"..."only a week!"...ultimately, it dragged out for three months. I knew that she was seriously ill and was very worried about her, and I also was in a very bad place myself. I fell apart and ended up IP. By the time she returned I had a lot of trouble rebuilding trust and feeling truly safe with her. Some members here were so supportive and helped me get through that hard time.

It's great that you have the day program. Maybe consider the CBT group just to stay connected with others?

I don't know if I will go for the CBT it's on zoom and for me that is not very helpful doing group online. I have day program and hopefully with that it will be enough til my Therapist returns.

Thank you so very much. I think it's going to take time for me to feel safe again when she returns also. I think day program is going to be opening up more as the restrictions with covid19 are easing next week. I will consider joining CBT group even though it's online. I am worried about my therapist.
