If you're not comfortable with her, you said that you'd be transferred to another T soon, is there an option for that to either be a bit sooner or to not have therapy until then, I think you said it's September when you'll get the new one?
To me it sounds that even if she now somehow stopped her behavior and didn't say anything about masks and so on at all, it'd be on your mind. That's understandable, but probably not what you actually want to work on? If it were me, I'd not want to see a T who makes me (maybe unintentionally) think about other things than what I'm there for all the time. The session length thing, maybe that's a good point to discuss with a new T right at the start, i.e. "how long are our sessions". I've heard from a lot of people who are scheduled by the hour but only have 50 minutes sessions. |

In my experience sessions of 50 or even 45 minutes are very common. The T needs time between sessions to write session notes and to prepare for the next client.

I agree that discussing session length with a new T from the start is a good idea. My T does 50-minute sessions, though going a couple minutes (like 3-5, not 20) over on occasion tends to be OK (like if I'm upset). But I also know of T's who do 45 minutes and others who do a full 60 minutes. Or my ex-MC, who technically did 45-minute sessions, but we were generally there for an hour, sometimes longer (and he did the same with other clients, so was generally running late).
I think it's good to check on other policies right in the beginning, too, to avoid possible conflict or confusion later. Like what kind of outside contact is allowed and under what circumstances. Whether you can request an extra session. Whether you can reach out to the T in crisis--like will they answer their phone at any hour, including the middle of the night (ex-MC), will only check/answer during office hours (some T's), or something in between (my T)? And anything else you're wondering about. Like vaccination status. |

Are you kidding? Telehealth is so accessible now, why play take a chance with your life? Why are people so weird about covid? We beat polio and smallpox. We should try to wipe covid out as well. Let's put equipment on Mars but act like idiots here on earth?? I will never understand this-ever.
