I've done that some, yes. With ex-MC in particular, I would listen to this one very caring voicemail he left me (Dr. T has never left me a voicemail--we don't use the phone aside from text--so with him it's email or nothing.).

No but I never found a therapist to be comforting. Re-reading any emails would probably just piss me off again

The doctor jury-duty excuse always worked for my parents...but I’m pretty dubious about it working for a therapist in private practice.

I have tried to reread some of No. 3’s emails in the past, but it was just too painful back then and now I don’t feel the need.

Oh goodness I have absolutely done that. I have saved all of L's emails going back to the very first one in 2012 right before she moved out of state.

I just got an appointment to get my COVID booster on Nov 5. I wanted to do mine on a Friday morning so I will have both of my days off to rest in case it makes me as tired as the 2nd one did. They are taking walk-ins too at this pharmacy but they said to expect to wait. I'd rather have an appointment and not have to maybe sit there waiting for half the day....

That seems SO cheap! It cost me $400 a few months ago to get a blood work up done on my cat ;(

All the time! I usually re-read them over and over the week of, until the next session. I do have them all saved, though I rarely go back and read old ones. But, you never know!

Yeah, I feel like the excuse might work better if, say, he worked in a mental hospital or otherwise with a bunch of high-risk clients. I imagine he has at least a couple who have some level of risk, but I'm not sure it's enough to get out of serving? It could likely get him out of grand jury duty though (that's something like...I don't know a month or two of going daily in my state vs. a single trial).

I just have this image of him being like, "But I'm important! And we're in a mental health crisis in our state!" and the judge replying with "Good for you, sit your ***** down."

I could see either the defense or prosecutor not wanting him on the jury, depending on what the case was, though.

Omg, I so hope that happens. And that there’s a viral video.

I mean, not that your therapist is self-important or arrogant or anything like that...

Which reminds me, chiding German chair referred to me as “confident” in that meeting today (“not every disabled person is as confident as ATAT...”), and I am not 100% sure she meant it as a compliment.

That's a nice tattoo to remember your dog, Scarlet!

Regarding re-reading emails from my T, I don't have any emails, but whenever I'm upset I read parts of my notes on what we've talked about in our sessions, where I usually scan for things that I put down as his exact words.

I'm having a really hard time today.
Why is it hardest to ask for support when you most need it?
At this point I don't know whether I'll get to speak to R this week or not.

As for the cost of hospitalization for a cat, it was way cheaper than I thought too. I thought it would be in the thousands. She easily cost me $700 for one vet visit but for some reason the hospitalization was really manageable money wise.
