Y'all. I went to the chiropractor today. I am in love and want to marry this waterbed/massage table. Ooooooh if I had that in my house I wouldn't ever leave home.

None of my joints would pop. He took it as a personal insult and tried harder. I am doused in Biofreeze and am not in pain. I have another appointment Friday afternoon. This may become part of my regular routine.

I'm sure it's easy enough if you have money.

It's really not. We have good insurance and enough money, and coordinating care and getting the right treatment can still be a nightmare. Never mind that something may be "out of network" through no fault of your own (say if the ambulance takes your unconscious carcass to the wrong hospital) and you can get stuck with a surprise bill in the tens or hundreds of thousand dollars. Our healthcare system is shockingly broken.

I've read how you could be in an in-network hospital having surgery, then the anesthesiologist could end up being out-of-network, leading to huge bills.

No, even with good insurance, it is a battle. While in the hospital, I had to fight for care for my husband pretty much constantly. Fortunately, I've navigated medical issues, hospitals, and insurance issues for decades with my husband's medical conditions, but it takes know-how and a great deal of time. My husband's medical claims for the last 100 days of his life totaled about 2.3 million. Almost 4 months later, I'm still battling coding errors, botched death certificate, etc. I often wonder what happens to people who don't know how to read an EOB, don't understand medical coding, don't know how to contact the right people to get matters taken care of. Heck, I DO know these things and it has been a constant battle.

Our system is awful - it isn't really a system; it's a business. And the bottom line controls life and death decisions - including my husband's - even with "good" insurance.

Good evening couch. Hugs all around to those who want/need.

After I got off work today I went for my usual walk, then started on the actual afghan that I made the smaller version of already, using a slightly different light green color than the one it calls for since the skein I bought specifically for this was mostly yarn vomit (still haven't heard if they're gonna replace it or not). I like this color better anyway. I got through the same 12 rounds tonight, tomorrow I will dive into the rest of the rows that I haven't yet experimented with! I am totally loving it so far, this color scheme is what the pattern calls for and I think it's so pretty:

Ouch! Yes, I've heard stories.

Still, I doubt this happens to Donald Trump.

Answering = they know your number is legit and they'll sell it so you can get MORE scam calls.

The biggest scam is selling phone numbers to other scammers.

Yeah, that crew called my mother and spun her the same tale on her answering machine.

She does not have an Amazon account. Easy peasy.

I got this same message on voice mail yesterday. Luckily I get alerts every time my credit card is used so between tgat and checking my Amazon orders page I knew it was a scam.

That us a goid one though. They make it sound like Amazon is looking out for you.

Dang, yeah, and even how they "verified" stuff sounded extremely legitimate to me.

Plus I've memory issues, so only after I calmed down did I wonder... "does amazon ever make outbound calls?" (Yes - I googled), then "wait, OTPs are personal information right?Hmm, I thought I removed all payment info/cards etc so I wouldn't impulse buy?"

Logged in, changed password (using my password manager app), checked payment info. True enough nothing saved. No recent orders or strange orders I didn't recognise too.

We had our local branch bank call us one time because someone was trying to cash a check on our account for like $500 but the check didn't seem right. We thought for sure it was a scam and almost hung up on them but it wasn't. Someone had stolen a handful of checks from the middle of one of our checkbooks and we didn't realize it. Luckily all they asked us to do was come into the branch and verify the check's validity. I don't know why we were home at the time but we were and was able to go to the bank and confirm it was forgery. The guy trying to cash the check had wandered off in the meantime.

It was a headache to get a new account and all that. Glad the teller was paying attention; however, I wondered what set her off and if had anything to do with racial profiling. Something caused her to look at our recent checks and noticed that these were not from our current checkbook style.

I had to take calls this morning for 4 hours; found a new use for ya'all couchies!! Haha! I had this one woman call in who just kept talking and talking... she was kinda funny too... so to keep myself awake until she was ready to let me speak, I began pretending that she was Una, which was helpful for me in building rapport, and she was actually happy when we (finally) hung up like 43 minutes later. Looooong call! I may have to watch for opportunities to pretend callers are others of y'all too. Why didn't I think of this before?!

5 days! I know it's so little time, but it's huge for me. I've been a smoker for the most part of 28 years! I've only quit 3 times: my parents forced me to, I was homeless and couldn't afford it, and for 9 months when I was trying to get pregnant. The only thing that sucks is that I seem to have a slight withdrawal even though I'm vaping. My memory is completely out of whack. I forgot a whole conversation with H, and the entire weekend of conversations with L. But other than that and the cravings, I'm feeling really good.

The conversation I forgot with H was that he told me I can go back to 2x a week with L so long as I don't smoke. You'd think I'd remember that one.

I don't have therapy until tomorrow but I find myself obsessing over it today.
I don't know yet what we are going to talk about. There was some good stuff in group on Tuesday and I have group tonight which might have some good material. I think it might be my last appointment with this IOP individual therapist unless my insurance is going to pay for more weeks. IDK. My case manager hasn't told me. I'm excited for the therapy appointment but I am also kind of dreading it. It's weird trying to hold those two in balance.
