This gave me a flashback to my dad's garden and the fuzzy tomato stems. Its like no wonder people thought they were poison, they appear very wild. And the smell is intoxicating.

At the wedding of one of my met school friends. Haven’t seen these folks in years but it’s so good to hang out with them again. I also played some of the music with one of my med school buddies and it was incredible to play music again. I’d forgotten about that sort of joy.

Just wish the BF was here too.

That's what happened to me with Amazon. It wasn't worth anyone's bother to send it back.

Yes, we had to play that game this week, which isn't fun. Ended up giving D a home Covid antigen test to be safe on Friday before sending her to school. And gave her some allergy meds, because apparently they can send a student home from school until they have a negative PCR test for even a single possible symptom now, including just a headache (several parents have reported that in a county school group I'm in). They can test in school, but it can apparently take a couple days to get the PCR results, and of course they have to stay home quarantined during that time.

I do appreciate them being cautious, but things like a headache can have many causes. It seems a bit extreme to send them home on the basis of that. Stuffy nose is another one of the symptoms, hence the test and allergy meds.

I wish home tests were free here like in the UK rather than about $12 each (and difficult to find now, but we have 5 more). Not that the school would accept a negative home test, but it gives us more peace of mind in sending her. Because of course we also wouldn't want her to potentially infect anyone.

Thanks, Artie. Today has been hard. When these waves of emotion come, it's actually physically painful. I've played some Animal Crossing, and studied some Danish on Duolingo, but the heaviness is still hanging around.

I just read a local statistic that gives me a surge of hope. As of 2 days ago, 75% of my county's residents age 12 and up have had at least one dose of the vaccine. Last time I looked at it, which was awhile ago I admit, iirc we were barely over 50%.

Thanks, Artie.

Dr. T did say he'd have felt comfortable with his son sitting next to my D in school, based on the decisions we made (granted, his son is vaccinated, but I think he said he'd feel that way even if he wasn't). Which made me feel better about our decision, as I was doubting it slightly (and expecting a call all day from the school to come get her).

Re: Switch games, I’ve been playing one called Eastward that just came out. I’m only a few hours in but I like it so far — story based, quirky, and doesn’t require annoyingly precise or fast action on my part (I’m not especially excellent at video games).

I've decided to make a little kit of friendship/relationship crystals for L and I. My dad suggested I give her one crystal per session. Maybe I should give her one every week when we miss a session? As another form of a blessing. I'm just trying to stay connected with her. I like gift giving, and this is a cheap way to do it. It fits into our budget (10%), and it doesn't hurt my finances at the moment.

Oh! And H's mom gave us some money. We're going to make payments on our back rent with it instead of paying it all upfront. That gives the politicians time to try to help us, and gives us a cushion if we need it. Btw, we're doing better this month than last month! Except for the stupid laptop...

I decided to start swimming butterfly again (which I have not done in years, and at which I was not particularly good back then). So I incorporated it into my sets this morning.

Jeez, that is a hard stroke. After 4 laps I was finally able to hit a consistent breathing rhythm. But my body feels like something hit it.

The past three years Trader Joe's has had seasonal gluten free pumpkin spice bagels, and I kept missing the narrow window of opportunity to get a bag. Today I found them and they are excellent (had with plain cream cheese).

Anyone want some brownies?

In today’s further food adventures i used a brownie mix I bought in the spring. Apparently it is not GF as I thought. I licked the spoon and my stomach already hurts. Who wants to lick the beater?

I guess my seminar students are getting brownies tomorrow.

The 2nd day of the workshop was just as fantastic as the first, I enjoyed it so much! Again the time went by SO fast. It was good working with the 2 other participants who were there today, the 3rd was unable to be on today for whatever reason. I think I'm going to do another workshop near the end of October, the next one in the series is about the shamanic worldview, that everything is alive. I'm so grateful that I found my way back to this practice, as I realized in the past couple days just how much I have missed it. When my local group started getting all political awhile back I stopped attending stuff, and I guess just kinda gradually let it fall away. I shall endeavor to not make that mistake again...

Glad you found them. I have not been making my usual tj's runs. I love some of their stuff but must lose weight because of arthritis and because the ones around here are bonkers about the virus and people wait in lines outside the store - I refuse to stand in line just for groceries when I can get them at non-line places

Been taking calls all morning at work, it's been back to back as usual, but at least no one's been yelling/cursing at me (yet). Happily I'm on lunch now. Then 4 more hours of calls... meh. We have a bunch of new hires who have been out of training for a few weeks now just waiting for them to start getting up to speed... then hopefully we'll only have to help out again sporadically. Right now our whole team takes calls on Monday then we are split up for the other days of the week so half of us anyway are working our normal job the other days of the week, so with overtime, we are not getting too behind in OUR work.

I just texted L a goofy little poem requesting a session on Friday. She responded by calling me "Sunny" and with a time. I suppose I have been feeling pretty sunny lately, especially after the workshop the past 2 days. I'm still a little on a high from that! I'm happy that there's no part of me trying to tell me not to bother her when I'm feeling good, to just stay on the break longer (it will be only 3 weeks if I go on Friday, but so what, right?) Because I really do want to discuss with her something surprising that came up for me during the workshop yesterday! Plus one of the dreams I had last night is just begging for her input as well.

I have a "check in" appointment today (30 minutes) with IOP T since my SH thoughts have been a lot and because since she asked to see my wounds on Friday I didn't think she was the most empathetic. I understand why they can't be but it just sucks. I did get some good empathy from a couple of my friends. But my thoughts are all crazy and telling me bad things. IDK thoughts or voices. Kind of looking forward to the appointment and kind of not. I don't want to end up feeling worse.
