Thanks Una. H was definitely "his person". I'm so glad that our son called and didn't just text last night, so that he could. If we'd had any inkling he was doing this poorly, we would not have gone on our trip. He was acting so, normal before we left.

Julieanne hasn't replied to me about the possible appointment today or Saturday. I'm a little bit in need now of an appointment (urges are bad, well they are coming in waves so sometimes I am okay but then I'm really not okay) but I don't know why it is taking her so long to decide when she can see me.

Aww, Artie. That is so sad. I'm so sorry about Rascal. It is one of my biggest fears is to lose my eldest cat who is 13. He's been my whole adult life.

He was going on 15, so he was getting up there in age. We're pretty sure he had cat dementia, on top of the diabetes and kidney disease. I just can't stop beating myself up for going on our trip. We should not have left him. I need to keep reminding myself what the vet said, that when he was there not even 2 weeks ago, there was no sign at all that this would happen so fast and she was just as surprised as we were.

Here's a pic of Rascal back in healthy days, outside soaking up some sun. He was a beautiful, sweet boy.

Julieanne, my T, hasn't gotten back to me yet. I don't know if I should text her again or just let the ball lay in her court.

On the one hand, I didn't ask for the session, she suggested that I needed it and then said let her think about her schedule and when she could fit me in, leaning towards Tuesday (which didn't happen) or Saturday.

On the other hand, I have been having pretty bad urges, but I promised a friend for 24 hours that I would refrain. That is up in 5 hours. I could re-up the promise if need be. But I think this sort of shows that I am managing without her.

On the other hand, it might be nice to have a session but I know she wanted the month of December off. So I don't want to impose on her time. But why did she offer and then not get back to me? Puzzling. Not sure where to go from here.

"Hi T,

I know we discussed the possibility of fitting a session in over your break. I wondered whether you might be able to offer an appointment on Saturday. On one hand I feel as though I am managing, on the other, I have been experiencing urges.

Please let me know whether this would work for you.'

If you feel you would benefit from extra support, you are entitled to ask, Kit.

Thanks, Lost. This was very helpful. I used it as a template to send Julieanne a text. I still left it in her hands. But I let her know more fully what was going on. We'll see what she says. Kit.

I hope you're able to get a session with Julieanne, Kit. What Lost said is similar to how I'd have suggested wording it.

Sometimes I hate texting because the other person might not respond at all, or might not respond for a while. I'm anxious to know what Julieanne wants to do but I know it hasn't been that long since I texted her. I'm just bored at work so I am focused on it. I need something else to do while I wait. Maybe I should journal. I'm not big on journaling but it kind of helps sometimes.

All my tv channels are back again today Caught the beginning of Death Valley Days. The opening is a trumpet solo and it was sooo weird - it was sooo familiar, like from a preverbal time. The show started when i was 8 months old (1952, but who's counting?!). We didnt have a tv yet but my cousins did. Anyway it just pinged a very old part of my brain. So cool.
Thanks for this!

I am about a decade behind you. I still remember when my dad brought home our first color tv - it was exciting. Years later - in the 80's- we tried to give a color tv set to my great aunt who still had her tv that was probably built in 1955, she was very gracious and as soon as my mom and dad left, she made her grandson come over and take the color out by adjusting the color settings -so it would be back to black and white.
