I used to suck at it the first few times we played but apparently I have toughened up over the years, I did pretty good last night haha. These are people I've known for 25 years, and h has know him since 7th grade and her since college.

My son just texted and said he tested negative today, so he'll be getting a dr-signed-off-on test on Monday so he can get cleared to go back to work. So glad he's feeling better this quickly.

That's great. I texted my boss today about returning to work on Thursday but she hasn't answered me yet (I have my doctor's blessing) - it's been over 6 hours since I texted her so I tend to overthink why she's not answering me.

That was my thought as well, that she might have the day off. And maybe is traveling or something so hasn't seen your text.

It's retail so we don't get Holidays off - she may just not be working today. I really get anxious and overthink these things.

I don't want to take down my christmas tree lights. I'm going to take down the tree, but I think I'm gonna leave the lights up through January - it's a new strand and extremely lightweight so I bet I can just put some little nails in the wall just below the ceiling and run them along those all the way around the living room. that will keep the place cheerful while I'm working so much.

I'm working only 8 hours today (the 10 hour days start tomorrow) so I plan to start cleaning my office on my lunch break, then finishing after my shift ends. There's a lot of junk piled around in here, and I haven't gone through the paper piles on my desk in a long time either.

Also I just put new batteries in my pretty little lighted tree which is next to my desk, so that adds a little cheer as well. Need to get a pic of it after I clean my office. It's too messy in here right now for a picture haha

The girls and I went skating. They were very unstable but I was getting cocky because of muscle memory (I practically lived in the skating rink as a kid) so I went out on the floor. Made it almost all the way around one time and wiped out in a spectacular manner. Promptly packed up my marbles and went home. I think little kids are a lot more resilient than these old bones lol.

Well, I got half of my office straightened up and then decided to grill some veggies (cauliflower, bell peppers & onions). Yum. Now I'm back in my office and starting to go through the stack of papers on my desk! I ordered some inexpensive storage bin thingies off Amazon for my shelves to replace the temporary ugly closet ones I am currently using. They're all dinged up cuz we used them for moving stuff. I plan to have my office looking pristine before I go to bed tonight!

Both of my therapists switched to telehealth for this week's appointments. EMDR T definitely has COVID and main T has "cold-like symptoms" and two negative home COVID tests.

So we were planning to keep D home for the next few days anyway (really high Covid rates in our area, but school opting to open as normal), but looks like Mother Nature is going to help with a snow day tomorrow. Which is good--one less unexcused absence. Assuming schools decide to close, but in my area, they've closed for predicted snow before, even when it never materialized.

My employer ended up shutting down our store for 2 days due to COVID cases among employees - which may be why my boss isn't getting back to me (or she may be sick too)

That stinks. Running a restaurant is tough - I can't imagine trying to keep one open in this age of COVID.

Yes, they said they stayed open longer than they'd intended to, but it's all become really challenging with staff shortages, increases in food costs, etc. They were just really good with D, who could be...challenging. And they would still serve us on the patio when it was 45 degrees outside. And would know our drink orders.

I completely get it, just sad.

I’ve got a new round of recurring nightmares in which I’m disabled in the dream. Not like dream paralysis or sensory deprivation, I have a disability in the dream, which is what makes the nightmarish quality.

This has never happened to me before that I remember. I’m never disabled in dreams, that’s a plus about them.

I shall just blame my employer and its many shenanigans.

Sort of on pause, but I asked for an accommodation for the spring: a hearing-accessible classroom so I can tap into a loop system that will let me hear students better throigh their masks.

Which ought to be the easiest thing, but it turns out those classrooms are only accessible for students—the university provides the needed equipment for them, but not for faculty.

So that is TBD.

Eta: I did just submit the materials for one of the jobs elsewhere that I was recruited for, though, so that’s a chance to get away.

Hey, you were brave enough to try it! Hope the only thing bruised was your marbles.
