That's great, Scarlet! I hope he gets it. He should check the NDA carefully though--I had one at a previous job, and I think it said I couldn't work for a competitor for a certain amount of time after leaving. But that may have been just if I left of my own choice, like they didn't want employees quitting to go work for a competitor.

Mornin' couch. I woke up a little earlier than usual so have a few minutes to pop on here before I log onto work. I slept like a rock last night, taking those web calls all day yesterday wore me out haha.

Hugs/head nods all around as appropriate!

I felt this comment on a spiritual level!

This week I took vacation but so far I've done housework and gift-wrapped. Took my oldest back to the urgent care, still Covid/RSV/flu negative but not getting better. The youngest is on the mend. I've yet to catch it and now would be a prime time since I'm already off work.

Take care couchies!

I haven't had a jolly rancher in years. I liked the green apple and the cinnamon ones when I was little

I hope your oldest feels better soon and glad your youngest is on the mend.

Tomorrow is D's last day of school before winter break, and we decided to keep her home because Covid case rates are so high at her school. H mentioned to her teacher that we were thinking of doing that, and she said, "I would!" I mean, if her own teacher is suggesting we keep her out... D is fully vaccinated (as of a few weeks ago), but it seems like Omicron doesn't really care. And it's not just concerns about her, but that we'll be seeing family Friday and Saturday (all vaccinated/boosted, but also all late 60s/early 70s, some with conditions that make them more susceptible).

I'm really ready for all this to be over...

Hugs LT, Stressed, and whoever else wants/needs.

I went to the vet after work today and picked up Rascal's little paw print. They did it in a little clay circle with his name carved above it. It's sweet.

I was waiting for the bus tonight with the CUTEST little girl and her dad. She was so tiny! But walking and talking, and jumping jumping jumping!!! I told her that i used to take the bus with my dad, a long long time ago. She spit (she was coughing poor little thing) and her dad said, yeah your mom taught you how to spit. I go, yeah i spit when i run. Then my glasses kept getting fogged up and i said so. Finally got them cleared and she got all excited that she could see me. Really bright little child.

When they got off the bus, before me, she lingered a bit after her dad, i turned around and saw she was looking at me, so i waved goodbye and she waved back. We really had a moment. She was so present.

When i first approached the bus stop, the dad had his stuff and her spread all over the bench, then when he saw me he made space, and i said, you got room for this granny? We also talked about how putting ungloved hands in pockets keeps them warm. I had one hand in and one hand out, on my stick. I love moments like these. But boy how do parents do it?

Morning coucharoonies!

we have OT again today and tomorrow. i did mine yesterday in the evening. hoping that next week they don't make us do any, so we can sorta rest up a little before hell month starts on Jan 3. we are trying to get ahead of the game before 1/3 but i doubt we will as we are getting a ton more messages than they had 'planned' for, and we're still spread out all over the place some taking calls, some doing messages, some doing chat, some doing Specialty, some doing other projects. If they would just leave us the f alone and let us work messages as a team, we would be fine and never be behind. oh well! it is what it is right! i'm thankful i have a job and a paycheck so I will stop complaining now!

Started preparations for Christmas Eve dinner today, gonna do a lot tomorrow too. Hopefully, I only have to roast the bird, make mash and heat up stuff/assemble on Friday. Got a goose this time, I've made duck, chicken and turkey before.

Today, I made some cranberry sauce and crispy onions, as well as roasted pecans for salad dressing. Tomorrow should be stuffing and green bean casserole.

Yum! I'm going to be baking a ham and making mashed potatoes on Friday so that's all ready for whatever time my son and his gf can come over on Saturday. Then I will be grilling veggies (red peppers, onions, cauliflower, mushrooms) on my new stovetop two-burner griddle thingamabob I got recently right before we're ready to eat. Oh and also will be baking some cookies probably and a chocolate pie!

That sounds delicious! Grilled veggies are the best.
I'm still thinking about whether to do dessert, there's already so much other food. And nobody but me cooking, so don't want to overload myself either.

Pissed at surgeon wasting my time today. Drove out to his office for a 6 week check and all it consisted of was him asking if I was doing okay, me saying yes, I walked a yard and saw it (looking for limp which is mostly gone and I could have said over the phone) and then being told to come back in 6 weeks. I doubt I will do that unless I want to have an xray. When I told him it could done over the phone, he said he cared and wanted to make sure no infection. How he would know that from today is beyond me. I told him this had been my year of md and it was ending in a week. After this, I will just be dead because I am not messing with those effers. He kept fishing for compliments - he had a student with him when he asked it I was glad I had the surgery. I said I was not unhappy thus far. jhc those guys have egos
