Now I just have to keep applying the stuff I learned going forward, especially surrounding h's ongoing health issues. He's got another round of tests scheduled in early October they're still trying to figure out what is causing this intermittent pain he's been having for a long time. That was why they figured out he has NAFLD, cuz his doctor's just been scheduling all kinds of tests.

I had a group orientation for my new pdoc. That was the dumbest, most unorganized group I've ever experienced. 1. She was hard to understand with her thick accent and fast pace. 2. I learned nothing new. 3. She didn't know how to Zoom. 4. Her guest speaker lectured and preached how we need to eat "Daniel's diet" from the bible.

Speaking of diet: I made H's favorite meal last night for his b-day dinner: ricotta stuffed shells. I've only made them once before, like 7 years ago. They turned out so yummy!

wasn't daniel the guy in the den with the lions? I don't need a diet to repel lions but mosquitos, chiggers, and ticks would be useful. I have always wanted to have 3 kittens named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

From what the guy said today, Daniel's diet consists of vegetables and water. He said you can add berries and nuts too. But no product from an animal and no processed foods.

I am not giving up my dairy!

Yes, and so unappealing was he as a diet they didn’t eat him.

Kind of like a dairy-free diet or one consisting largely of beans is to me.

Ugh. The ex is being….ex-ish. Being mad about it is a little like being mad at the wind for blowing- that’s just what the wind does.

If I could walk into my (so very recently former) T’s office, she’d get why this is throwing me for such a loop. I wouldn’t have to explain. Instead I called my bestie and cried for an hour.

And I took a mental health day. Which included a nap with bizarre unsettling dreams. Ugh.

That seems really weird with the p-doc, especially about the diet thing. And I've never heard of a group orientation for a pdoc. Will you have to meet with her often?

Nas with bad dreams are the worst. Naps are supposed to be a way to relax.

You just described my general diet. Alas no dinner parties for us.
I looked and I have no fewer than 7 types of white beans, a bunch of different lentils (bean or not bean), a few different red beans, pinto beans, black beans, and several peas. Yum. I also have an assortment of nuts and beans and hemp to make non-dairy drinks out of. My favorite right now is macadamia and tiger nut usually with a date or two added in for extra yum.

Are we gonna need two kitchens, my suite(sic)?

Plus, the obvious (to 7th grade boys) about tiger nut.

Not sure. I had to request my next appointment which is on Monday. Normally, with all previous pdocs, they make an appointment for me at the end of each appointment.

I have a ton to go over with her on Monday: bariatric surgery, how often do I need an appointment, standardized test results, communicating with L, and now my feelings about being subjected to religion that I gave no consent to.

Speaking of beans, my sister told me about some special kind of bean that she discovered recently and has fallen in love with. I wish I could remember what it is called, I want to try it. She said it wasn't cheap but it's worth the price.

Ooh, let us know when you find out!

Re dairy - i was on a cereal and milk binge for most of my life. I craved GrapeNuts and cows milk, would eat a few bowls, then get stomach and overall body cramps. Once they subsided, i needed more! "Go ask Luna!" In later years, i was "No yogurt? No whey!" Then i stopped dairy cold turkey

Like for years. Decades even. Recently i got a 2 pct Fage yogurt in my Shipt delivery. HEAVENLY!!!

So yeah, dairy is a drug. You can sacrifice your life to it like heroin. You have to get your head right about it. What is keeping you addicted? There is no one coming to save you. YOU have to decide.

This is why jerry seinfeld said, "im lactose intolerant - i have no patience for lactose."
Thanks for this!

It sounds like you and stopdog are going to share a kitchen.

That will end well, what with the proximity of sharp objects and all. Since neither of you are known for not being annoying to the other.

ETA: I cannot abide milk in cereal. Ick, soggggggy.

To be fair, I don't really share a kitchen well with anyone. I could probably have dinner with exhankster (no dairy and lots of beans) -but then she would have to go home.

To be fair, any time one shares beans for dinner, going home soon after is wise.

I have found there is not a problem if you eat them enough.

And just when we get exhankster mostly house trained, along comes someone who tries to overly excite her.
