Hi, my name is Artie and I'm a cheesecake addict instead of buying one piece like I'd intended to do when I was just at the grocery store, I bought a whole one. It's a small one at least, but still... ugh. Now I need to hide it in the back of the freezer (minus the piece I just cut out of course). The bummer thing is it's not even that GOOD. I should have waited til I go see my sister next month and have her make me one. She's an excellent cook.

Maybe it's cuz I didn't see L yesterday who knows. Although H and I did have a really good little vacation, we originally weren't gonna come home til today but they messed up our reservation and we decided not to bother with finding another hotel and just came home yesterday. Anyway I had a couple of drinks Friday evening and was feeling very relaxed and open and we talked about all kinds of stuff that needed airing out, then yesterday morning found a great little breakfast place and then the hiking was awesome, so beautiful with all the wildflowers, I almost hated to come home yesterday but also sorta feared if we tried to stay, the good vibes wouldn't last...

Sorry your vacation was cut short, but sounds like it served its purpose in a way, being relaxed, talking to your H, having the hike with the wildflowers. I'd worry that trying to stay longer would jinx things, too!

I am watching Bye Bye Birdie - it is quite silly but I enjoy it

How often do you do the little breaks away?I would suggest increasing them if you come back feeling so much better.

I have a session with Fin tomorrow at 3pm.

It's been 10 months of working with him and I have already paid for the next 3 more sessions. but I'm honestly just feeling so exhausted by constantly trying to work on myself.

He did lower his fee even more for me, from £125 a session to £105 but it's still a lot. I don't want to be spending crazy amounts and not have anything to show for it.

I'm actually thinking of doing acting classes instead, with my sister's teacher and I would still save £83 per session.

Yum! My father used to buy this strawberry one I could eat all by myself lol but you had to wait for it to defrost which was a pain.

Fingers crossed she does have it. You should write down and make a book for your son too. Lots of places also do single print copies so you could make it look fancy smanchy too.

Ex T texted me today. It stirred up all kinds of feelings. I tried again to explain why I left. I took the blame. But it's like nothing satisfies her. I wish I knew what I could say that would make it okay for me to have left. Although she did say she was thinking of referring me out anyway but she was scared to. So I don't know why she is so upset still (I mean, I'm over it, but this just brought it back up!) if she was going to refer me out anyway. So confusing.

Ouch, Kit.

I'm so sorry she contacted you again.
You do not have to 'make it OK' for you to have left.
IMO, you did the right thing, because your therapy with her was no longer about you.
Would you be willing to block her number for the next few days, whilst you recover from this setback?

I hope you are able to talk about it with current T soon.

HUGS,

Lost

Wow, I'm sorry she's still trying to hold onto you. Can you block her number? Although I know I would have a hard time doing that if it were me. I'm sorry you felt like you needed to take the "blame" for leaving - you did not do anything wrong. Maybe you should tell her you're referring HER out.

eta: I'm sorry, Kit. I don't mean that last to sound rude - my thought process is that maybe she needs to get supervision instead of texting you.

Therapy is weird because we're social animals and there are ways we're expected to act and sometimes those normal expectations can and should be ignored. This is one of those times. You were paying her for a service. You're not responsible for her hurt feelings because you decided to stop using her services. It feels like you should be because you had a real relationship with her, but you're not responsible. I think a good therapist would know that and deal with this in other ways but she is trying to get her needs met through you instead. I don't know if she was always like this or something got knocked loose with all those falls, but she needs to deal with her own hurt feelings, either by herself or with her own therapist. Not you. I'm sorry she contacted you again, Kit. You don't have to respond if she texts you again.
