I feel really grotty. I have had painful period aches all night and day. My back hurts, my womb feels tender and I am easily upset. I don't even want chocolate, that's how serious this situation is. I feel like I have zero tolerance for idiots and I really want to be on my own. I am just back from a week away where I spent all the time alone, apart from working online with 5 students for 5 hours, so going away again doesn't feel feasible. I really love being a woman and all aspects of our cyclical being, but life doesn't allow me to live it in the way I need!

Gentle hugs, if wanted. I'm sorry you're feeling so miserable and hope you feel better soon. Wish you could spend more time away.

I'm sorry you're going through this moo.

Have you seen a gynaecologist?

Rosehip tea is supposed to help. I bought my sister the deep heat patches that stay warm. Epsom bath soaks may help.

I had to take a break from gym, because it really was affecting my hormones and making my periods more painful, instead of the opposite.

Well, T had a heart ablation procedure on February 15. She stayed for the night and was released next day.
She just texted me she is back in the hospital for two or three days. I am not sure why, I didn’t ask.
But I’m concerned for her.

In trying-not-to-freak-out news, bicycle guy and I had a conversation about getting a dog. A serious one. About a dog together that would be OUR dog.

Help.

This is a TOTALLY NORMAL THING TO DO right?

It is a commitment.

Go with with your gut feeling about it.

I like dogs, but realistically would not like the responsibility.

Hi Couch,

I hope today's being good to you.
Pocket riders would be much appreciated for my physical health related hospital appointment in an hour and a half.

Thanks, LT.

Nothing serious...just a compression stocking related check up.
Been wearing them consistently for 6 months now, so I'm hoping that the nurse might be satisfied enough to discharge.

Hi Couch,

I have another review in six months.

Fed up with it now.... don't mind wearing them, just could do without the hospital involvement.

Spare as in if your first plunger breaks?

One of the first memes I remember on the internet is "smart man buy plunger before he need plunger".

Short poll for whoever wants to participate:

If you had a diagnosis that was associated with inpatient treatment (for example like me BPD), would you feel offended if you were asked the question "when was your last inpatient stay" if you've never been inpatient? (No previous question about if you've ever been)

I'm really uncertain how I feel about it. On the one hand, it's a fine question to ask, I answered and we can move on. On the other hand, it seems judgemental somehow, like "I expect you to have been inpatient at least once" (not that that is a bad thing, but it's like if somebody "when have you last been to Egypt" if you've never been).

Is it a case where a medical professional/therapist is asking you? If so, it could just be something on a checklist. But I also think it's rather presumptuous. (Though maybe it's asked that way because they think someone might be more willing to tell them if they ask that instead of "Have you ever been hospitalized?")

I don't have that sort of diagnosis, but when I answer a particular question on intake questionnaires, it tends to be assumed I've been hospitalized, when I haven't been. So it can be a follow-up question if they're asking in person.

Possible trigger:

If it's, say, a friend, acquaintance, or family member, it could be an opportunity to educate them on BPD, that not everyone ends up inpatient at some point. I suppose you could tell a medical professional that, too.

CNS - I don't know context, but I get asked that with new mental health providers. It's just a general question on the form. I don't think twice about it. I also have BPD and have been hospitalized for it, but not for a long time. Actually, it was probably more the depression and anxiety that landed me in the hospital.

That seems encouraging! And normal. But also scary. I freaked out once when an ex gave me a key to his place (obviously, he wasn't an ex at the time!) Like, had a panic attack in the moment. But I also wasn't ready to settle down and had doubts about him, so.

Pics when (if?) you get a dog!

Yes, absolutely!…spare as in an extra plunger.
Great relatable saying!
I have/had a plunger..totally didn’t expect it to break.

My neighbors are great but..I don’t know too many *that* well. lol
Glad it happened mid morning vs. middle of the night.

Thanks to both of you Scarlet and LT. I think it's just weird to ask it like that, if I have to fill out a form, sure. But if you are talking you might as well go "have you ever..." and then go from there. I understand that for some it might be easier to answer if you just ask directly, I did not consider that. Thank you very much for that perspective!

Edit: also I think forensic T really likes science and structured questions, so your comments make sense. (I too like science, that's not an issue, I've studied physics after all).
