I’m sorry, NP.
Relationships are hard because you can’t be in each other’s brains. And then it’s amplified when there is an imbalance. Therapeutic relationships are imbalanced. I get why they have to be and it’s not fair. It’s painful. I don’t know what will happen for me when L retires. A few occasions she hinted towards basically cutting me off. A few other times she said she didn’t know.

Even just to say, "Hey, haven't heard back from you so hoping you're dong OK' or something like that. It's possible he was on a long vacation or has something going on in his life that's distracting him that has zero to do with you. I can't imagine after your relationship that he'd just put you completely out of his mind. So I say a brief followup, even, "Just making sure you got this" while forwarding the email could be worth it. I suspect he'd write back. |
