I researched it awhile back (several years) but I don't have any communication problems with my husband so it didn't look germane to me. It reminded me of the old Catholic retreats and couple's weekends and stuff? It seemed a little gimmicky to me and like it promises too much. I have a feeling if it doesn't "work" the couple or one of the couple get blamed for the failure, not the method.

If nothing else is working, try it? Nothing to be lost it doesn't sound like and some of the methods could work if you can give a semi-serious effort? I'd probably be picking it apart though. For me, at least 90% of anything is will. If I really want something, it generally happens.

Brian,
I've read all of Harvel Hendrix's books on IMAGO therapy. My wife and I took an IMAGO series of workshops as our premarital counseling; we worked on some marital issues with two different IMAGO therapists. It's all been beneficial for us. Hendrix helps one to uncover deeply held reasons for boding with your mate. If you don't work on your issues with your partner at the present, guess what, you'll just find someone else down the road and the same issue will rear its ugly head. The theory really resonates with me, and although it is not related to religion, it jives with my religious beliefs. Give it a try. Have an open mind. Learn what you can.
