I feel like I've been barely hanging on, counting the hours until I can go to therapy this evening. My T just left a message cancelling because she is sick. Oooh ouch, this is really hard. I need suggestions for how to hold myself up until I am able to see her.

hope my ideas don't sound too stupid...just going by my T.

has she ever written sayings in a journal for you or an affirmations list?

anything along those lines? grounding techniques you've done together maybe?

visualization of whatever helps...an imaginery session with your T telling her what you would have told her anyway...a walk along a deserted sunset beach?

sorry don't suppose this is any help but it's all I've got besides support.

I'm sorry she had to cancel!! Did she schedule another day before your next regular session? Can you leave her voice mail so you don't have to hold things in forever? or leave emails?
Do you have a doll or bear around that you could have a pretend session with? Or hold one in your head (i do that one all the time). Tell her in your mind what you would say and imagine the sort of things she'd say back to you....
Sunggle up with books, warm blankets, hot chocolate and some stuffies or a cat/pet....
Hope you're alright.

((((( SoSadMom ))))

That is really hard to have happen!! Especially at the last minute.

Maybe thinking of your favorite session or moment with her might help for now. Or, writing to her in a journal if you do that.

Could you call and leave a message for her to help you feel connected? Or call and leave a message that you'd like another appointment if she gets back soon?
