I asked my T two weeks ago if we could have a phone session while I am out of town this week.

He said yes and it is tomorrow. My husband's first reaction when I told him was 'uh-oh' and then he said that T and I have never had good luck with the phone (his not returning calls for example) that have sent me over the edge and still do.

I talked to my husband about this because I have this weird feeling that T is going to cancel this tomorrow. Maybe because I am surprised that T agreed to this and our past history with the phone...

I am hoping for the best but there is that doubting part of me that is wondering how this is going to go. I'm still very sensitive when it comes to T so if he cancels I just don't know what I'll do.

If he doesn't and we have the call, I hope it goes well...I need some fingers crossed for me!!

Have a good and productive session...

Thought I'd try to make you laugh...

Almeda,
Good luck with T giving you a call. I've got my fingers crossed for you. a phone session am I nuts?

If he doesn't return your call, try to think positively. It could be worse, he could be not returning your hippo. Now you feel better, don't you, LOL?

Good luck and keep us posted!

Don't forget that some of these things are new to T's too and they might not be very good at them or very practiced! I'd have a heck of a time on a phone call because phones make me more anxious so I wouldn't be as comfortable talking with T and that would make me feel bad about myself.

I really hope it goes better than it has in the past for you, that he doesn't cancel and helps you as you hope he will.

LOL....I hate phone sessions too because it is exactly "can you hear me now....are you there, hold on!"

I hope it works out for you. As long as you don't have Spring PCS (Piece of Sh^t) your cell phone should be ok!!!

Good luck! a phone session am I nuts?

Good luck on the phone call, almedafan. Do you have a specific topic to discuss or will it just be a general session call? I am not very good on the phone so would have a hard time having a call to just "do therapy" but I might be able to manage if we had a set topic. I hope it goes well for you!

Almeda,

I have had "phone issues" with T and phone sessions. The phone sessions always went off as planned because we both view them as sort of sacred just like a scheduled in-person session. A session is different than a phone call right? So this one just happens to be on the phone.

So, I am hoping and praying that your session goes off as planned!

Success!! I had my phone session at 4pm today. It went so well and he said at the end that it went well too.

It really helped me to talk some things out that transpired this week. This is a hard week because I am trying to find out more information about a past abusive situation. He gave me some things to think about which is good.

We laughed a lot too and I needed that. So it worked thanks for crossings fingers for me!

That's great that it worked out. You know, I was just thinking... when T and I talk on the phone and we are both on our cell phones, I think I only hear about 2% of what he is saying, lol. And I'm only paying attention to 1% of that. So.... Yeah.

I'm really glad you were able to work some things out over the phone.

Thanks Pink. I was nervous I'd get a dropped call. He was using his office phone so I could hear him good.
