I just got back from a session with my therapist.....first time back in like a month....
I made the statement that for as long as I can remember I have never had any real desire to live my life she asked "if you had the desire to live what would that feel like?" I didnt have an answer... so I put it to the rest of you: "what does it feel like to have a desire to live?" |

I like the flow of energy, excitement, imagination, curiosity, good humor, and pleasure in one's senses when I'm feeling most alive.

I have I desire to live, but it only really comes out when I'm hypomanic. I want to achieve anything and everything. What I still want to achieve afterwards is probably true desire. I just don't desire it enough to do, so I do not.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction! ---"Address before the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society". Abraham Lincoln Online. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. September 30, 1859. |

For me, I can only say that I imagine it is opposite of how I feel right now.
