You didn't have paperwork during internship, how odd! Good wishes!

Yeah, with 120 clients that will happen. . . My girlfriend was a T for the State of Georgia for 30 years and got hired back part-time after retiring just to do intake reviews/paperwork (at a higher rate than she was making as a T).

omg omg omg omg omg it was a considered a luxury to even get to pee today. On Mondays I work from 11-7. Guess what time I finally ate? 6:45!!!

And Sky, in answer to your question, no, I did not have this type/level/amount of paperwork at my internship. It was a completely different environment (inpatient). The social workers did the paperwork. The therapists ran the groups and did the progress notes.

I'm a teacher and I know exactly what you mean.

What kind of paperwork do you have to do? Notes on the patients and stuff? Do you do the 50 minute hour? If so, are you able to do anything with the 10 minutes in between? Just curious. I graduated yesterday/Life as a T

Congratulations! You are going to be a wonderful T!

Ok, pink, wow... then yeah, the paperwork is going to be tough to get done if they didn't let you do it before. Usually shorthand type notes are made (for the insurance company) in the 10 minutes between sessions, and then either at the end of the day and/or at the end of the week you write up the progress notes for yourself.

I guess you can understand why some were concerned about the heavy, heavy caseload they gave you.

Hang in there!

At my internship I do more paperwork than anything else. I do assessments and assessment reports, and only see one client. We have a social worker who does the in-depth intake interviews (which were what they told me would be my job before I started, but they changed their minds). It's all different at different settings. I'm half way through internship and putting in applications at other sites so that I can get more varied experience.
