I think thats what they're called... When you go to the clinic and spend the day there but go home at night? My T has recommended I try this and I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what sort of things to expect.
Thanks everyone! Ro |

I llloooovee outpatient programs.......some of my best friends are from them!!! I feel so cared for when I'm in them....expect an intake appointment where they go over what you've been through, and signs and symptoms, a tour of the place, an assignment to the group that best suits you, group therapy, art therapy, music therapy, listening to what other people are going through, sharing some of what you go through, individual therapy, your own social worker, lunch break where you can bond with the others, physical relief such as sports, time where your family members and/or friends can come in, I go in every time I need to do a bit of work on myself......

I went to a day hospital at a nationally known psychiatric hospital. Our day started at 8, we shared breakfast and lunch, groups, individual, and arts & craft therapy. Our day usually ended at 4. It was a nice alternative (if you are safe) to inpatient hospitalization.

I was in an outpatient program following discharge from the psychiatric hospital, last summer, for 8 weeks. I basically went in 4 days a week for group therapy and also had one on one sessions with a nurse and a psychiatrist.
I've also done intensive outpatient for addictions treatment. 4 days a week for 10 weeks, 3 hours a day. Basically different types of group therapy, with a heavy emphasis on CBT. I really liked the addictions outpatient treatment. --splitimage |
