I find the phone kind of difficult sometimes, because it feels like there is a bit of a time limit - unlike the hour I'm sitting in therapy, when I can sort of take my time and see what comes up.

Sometimes, if there is something I really need to discuss with T and I'm afraid I'll get too frozen up to actually remember to talk about it, I'll write myself a note. The writing before the phone call helps me clarify my thoughts, and I'm better able to get what I need from the call.

I have a friend who can't even talk to her T on the phone to reschedule an appointment- she freezes up that much! So, I don't think it's uncommon. It sure can be frustrating, though...

I freeze up when I"m on the phone with T..... I freeze up when I"m on the phone with T..... I freeze up when I"m on the phone with T.....

I think that a person has to talk to a therapist about anything that is on his mind otherwise it will just stand in the way....
