For those of you who were wondering about T changing clothes:

Once during the first year of my therapy, we were in the midst of a pretty heavy conversation and, continuing to talk, T just stood up, walked over near his desk, picked up a bag, pulled out a vest and put it on. Then, continuing to talk, he sat down. It was truly bizarre, as if nothing unusual was happening, no mention of it.

I remember at the time I told a friend about it and we laughed and laughed. In retrospect I guess it's not so strange but the fact that he didn't mention it, didn't say excuse me or anything is what made it so strange. What does he have...a bag of vests handy? What's next--tank tops? Speedo? The Therapy Olympics

lol, MissCharlotte, yesterday at therapy my T had this sweater-vest type thingy on (one that is not a pullover but open in front). I had never seen him wear this before. It turned suddenly cool yesterday after several days of 90 degree weather. My guess is T has a "vest bag" in his office so he can put one on if he gets chilled. I think he must have attended the same therapist school as your T. The Therapy Olympics

Guess what? I "awarded" my T his medals today, lol. And then I kept added them on whenever he would do something that annoyed me (which actually wasn't that much today, surprisingly).

Under his breath, T said, "I can't wait until the Olympics are over."

To which I answered, "Yeah, but then you will have to get ready for my post-Olympic coverage."

lol

Pinksoil,

That was really funny. I may have to think about awarding my T also, I'm just not one hundred percent sure I want to do that.

Love the "post-olympic coverage" - sounds like you and T have a good working relationship!

Looks like my T ended up competing in an additional event, which was the "Vacationing Competition"

He won three medals!

GOLD in the "Not Processing the Absence in an Efective Manner (or at all)" category

SILVER in the "Letting Countertransference Get in the Way of Helping the Patient Process the Absence" category

BRONZE in the "Forgetting to tell the Patient Exactly When The Return Date is, Until the Last Session Before the Vacation" category

My T is truly a spetacular athlete. May we see him in the summer games in 2012. Watch out, London.
