Chaotic!!! You are an artist!

Any art I attempted would involve stick figures

I really like seeing your pictures.

Thanks for this!

Lol Chaotic,
My old Therapist tried the integration stuff with me in the beginning. Within a few times of seeing her, she asked me to talk to a chair in the room as if one of my abusers was in it. I looked at her and said are you serious, isn't that why people come to you in the first place. I'm not talking to a person thats not there lol. She just busted out laughing and said, I never thought of it that way. She had tried a few more times. I don't know, I just can't do it. Not sure if its the whole talking to an invisible person, or having my therapist right there watching me do it.

LOL,
I was supposed to look at the chair in front of me and visual it as a stage. I was supposed to visualize my stressful situation as if I was standing in the back of the room. OK....Oh...you can't close your eyes to do it you have to look at the seat of the chair and run through the situation. O-K. Now, do it is slow motion, now speed it up..now, now play it backwards, now imagine a curtain...*&^$$$%^ WTF. Hello, how the hell can I do all this??? I think the whole thing was a sham... designed to send you into cognitive overload..I think half the time as I was trying to visualize, my mind was like ...what am I supposed to be doing again? WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS?????
I don't think I did it right. My mind was jumping all over the place.

Sunny, I don't think that my being 'willing to be submissive' makes it a bad approach, she feels it would not be helpful at this time. I think she wants me to be more directive before we venture into hypnosis. I don't remember all that she said; I do remember that it frustrated me that it felt like she was withholding from me about the willing to be submissive statement. Too suggestive? I don't know. I trust her to know when the time is right, I guess... if that's not being too willing to submit. lol

I will keep prodding her about it, because I am very interested in it.

When I did some with the previous T, she told me that I benefitted quickly from it (it feels wonderfully relaxing--many times more relaxing that my favorite relaxation CD!) and that not all clients are able to get that as quickly. I think anyone who has a history of fantasizing or daydreaming a lot probably does, as they are types of hypnosis. So, I think T wants me to learn to be more here in the moment first, sturdy to deal with whatever may come up.

Thanks... I kind of feel better when I look at those two states... Some of the other ones I've drawn, I'm kind of glad my T takes them. I wonder why she takes the stuff I bring in, dates it, and doesn't give'em back after we talk about them??? I should ask if she taking any continuing ed classes...maybe I'm a case study or something.

chaotic, your experience with the chair and stage in therapy sounds very interesting. Did your T want you to be a detached observer? When my T does weird c**p, I just trust him and go with it.

Working with Ego States in Hypnosis is a very powerful technique. But must be done by someone who know's what they are doing very well.

I do this type of work commonly for everyday issues and my clients are very successful with the changes made during these sessions.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Fire Away......
