I went to see my Pdoc last week for my monthly appointment. I was really really tired and found it hard to explain my problem with taking my medication during the past month. He seemed to be just treating it as if my concerns (which I admit I wasn't clear about because I was so tried) were not important. He seemed to say "just do x and you can get back to taking your meds," instead of listening to me. I don't know if I should call him to let him know my concerns or just wait till my appointment next month. I know that my concerns can wait until next time as they are not pressing enough to need a between appointment call. However, I left the appointment upset because I didn't feel like he was listening to me. Should I call him to talk about this or wait until my next appointment? Thanks for your advice.

sometimes when i try to explain things to my pdoc i get flustered (especially if i'm in a hard place or tired) and then i know i can't do a good job. then i leave there knowing i didn't get my message across...and its hard because like you i only see him once a month for that 20 minute appt. so the pressure is on to get everything across.

i would call him. i have called mine. if for no other reason then now you can think about what you want/need to say with no pressure. when i have called about such things it has helped because usually i am better able to explain what my sympotoms are or what is going on and then the dr is better able to interpret the info and make a choice as to what needs to be done.

it doesn't have to be an emergency session call..think about it...would you call your regular dr if you had problems with a medication or needed a question answered? it's part of their job (AKA customer service even tho they don't like to think of it that way)

Thanks for the advice Stumpy and 7. I saw my T today and we decided that I should call my Pdoc about this and setting up another appointment for while my T is going to be gone.
