**trigger warning for bad dream**

I had this horrible dream this morning that I was kidnapped, held hostage for years and tortured constantly. I was terrified and afraid in the dream. It's taken me almost an hour to shake it off. I felt like I needed to connect with T so I called her office just to listen to her voice and leave a quick message. I told her I didn't need a call back but just needed to hear her voice. Connecting to someone outside myself was very helpful. What a vivid, awful dream it was. Thank goodness I could call T and listen to her encouraging voice. It's also nice to be able to share here on PC about the terrible dream and having a connection with T.

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

(((((((((((((((((((((internettie))))))))))))))))))))))))

Sending peaceful thoughts your way.....
I understand how awful those kind of dreams can be...and they can just stay with you long after you are awake.
Good job reaching out for the support you needed from T.

I'm so glad you took care of yourself by reaching out to T and reaching out here. I'm learning that connecting with someone else is often the way out of the darkness.

Thank you for the peaceful thoughts and hugs. I have a difficult time reaching out because I'm afraid no one will reach back. I think this was a major milestone for me. I actually called when I wasn't in full blown crisis. It always had to be a crisis before now. I must be making steps forward. Hooray!

Hi Internettie,

I'm happy that you realized what you needed to feel safe/better and then called to hear your t's message.

I tend to have alot of bad dreams myself, and it is disturbing. If they are intense enough, they can color my feelings for the majority of a day, even if I can't consciously remember much about them.

I hope you're feeling alot better now!

I'm sorry that you had such a terrifying dream. I am glad that you are feeling more comfortable reaching out and that you took care of yourself by doing so!

Thanks everyone. It was a rough day today. I kept thinking back on the dream as if it had really happened. T sent me a nice email and said if I need to talk to her we can do that before my Friday appointment. I think I'll be okay until then, unless I have another weirdly bizarre dream tonight.
