This probably sounds like a stupid question - wondering how to meet real friends IRL (not "fake" people) who dont "judge" by appearances
(sometimes they don't look much further than my bear exterior so we never get to know each other )
I know all the usual replies, join clubs etc (most of them don't welcome bears though )

((((((Fuzzy))))))

I know this will sound really wierd probably, but what about becoming like a scout leader. It's just that they are usually very open to differences. Just a suggestion. Sorry I know it's just another club... Volunteer work with kids? kids like fuzzybears and when the others see how much they love you the adults will love you too
Thanks for this!

My experience has been if I follow my heart or passion then good things often happen.
Volunteering or belonging to a common interest sets a good stage for closer interaction with others. With a foundation, closer bonds can follow.

There are no guarantees but then life doesn't have any anyway.

What a wonderful idea!
My dot was in brownies, and I volunteered alot of my time there, tho never becoming a leader, myself. It was great fun!!

The scouts are very versatile and creative, involving many with one sole objective.

I've also volunteered time at the animal shelter. The people there were much like myself...someone sharing of self for a good cause.
You're bound to finding good-hearted persons in any volunteer environment.

I wish you the best in your journey, Fuzzy...

Hey Fuzzy! This is a good question. I am far along in my journey and I am still trying to find more friends IRL! It probably doesn't help that I am deep and serious, don't try to fit in, and I ask too many questions! Oh well! I am trying and learning, learning a lot and this is entertaining!

sometimes I wonder if you have to START with some fakeness - because it's their comfort zone. But I'm wondering now... if in a lot of cases YOU / WE have to be the first to open up... which scares me big time, you know?

I guess I'm not sure about this one either those are just my rambling thoughts on the matter xD
