Last year I dated a guy..it lasted for a long time and it wasn't a bad relationship. Our breakup was pretty ugly..but later on we decided to stay friends. We just started talking a lot again but we always end our conversations on a bad note..he usually gets upset over one little bad thing I say and then refuses to talk to me. But the next day he'll be fine! Well we were talking tonight and of course we started arguing again..over the stupid little things...I told him that if we are gonna be friends then we should sort out our problems first! But he didn't want to talk about it...he just said "maybe we shouldn't talk anymore"..but I didn't want that..I think my problem is that I don't want to throw away our friendship and I can't move on. Should I forget about him? Or how could we work this out?
Any help is appreciated..thank you.

It sounds like HE has a problem. He's the one getting mad over little things. Since it's his problem, he has to be aware of it and want to change it. He does not sound like he wants to change - he'd rather end a friendship with you than look at himself. You might want to try pointing that out to him in a nice way.

Other than that there's not much you can do IMO, either accept him the way he is or end the friendship.

Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."

In my opinion it would be better to let it go and move on. Staying friends with an ex who is still giving you trouble doesn't sound healthy and could cause problems in a later relationship. Just my 2 cents

More than likely there are still tension between you guys. It is difficult to stay friends with a ex-relationship bc it is hard to not cross the boundaries and keeping the personal feelings aside from a friendship. Obviously you guys haven't had enough time apart to move on from the relationship. I would say you need more time apart from one another. You need to remember that you guys broke up for a reason and as good of a friendship you may think you have with him... its still just not meant to be to have one another in each other lives.

Sometimes folks make better friends than Lovers,,,but for the friendship to bloom the Love must wilther.

Like Jen shared,,time is often all that is needed to move the heart away from its loss.

With Care,

Lenny
