My friend and i have known each other for about three years, we're good friends but I feel that he and i were pressured. There is a holiday dance and I thought that there was hope for us to go out. I thought it wouldn't happen but i think my friends made it happen. They bothered him about it and he asked me on Friday. I said yes, but everyone seemed so much happier than me that we are going together.. (I'm regretting i ever said anything out the two of us going together.)
Now, I think our friendship is strained, and I don't know what to say to him. I feel terrible..I'd never want to hurt him, but it seems to be happening anyway. Things aren't the same.
I don't know what to tell him, I'm so confused about this.

I'm sorry about the double post (one is "pressured" and the other is "ressure". Lol.), is there a way to take this out?

My suggestion is to talk to your friend. You might tell him you are a bit anxious and want to know if he is having second thoughts. Make it clear you value him as a friend and do not want him to feel he has to go to the dance with you if he would rather not. Tell him remaining friends is more important than the dance.

Than again, you two may be having a case of the nerves and might really enjoy the dance.

Good luck.

Thank you, I suppose it is just a dance and hopefully everything will be ok.
To be honest, I really don't know what to say. I'm not nervous, we're both really annoyed with other people trying to get us together, and I'm getting really angry. I'm going to blow up...
I'm even starting to say sorry on their behalves for bothering him..

I tried to text him. He would usually talk to me for so long, but he hardly said much. I tried to keep the conversation alive but it died so quickly. I can't even talk to him..
