Hi all.
![]() I've already posted something like this in the 'Self-Injury' thread, however, i find it more benefit if i can get this thread's point of view. I have a guy friend who cannot get rid of his ex without her hurting herself. Has been going on for 3-4 months. He is very very tired of all this. He has tried everything. she skips counselling appointments. She follows him around. She calls up to make sure what he's doing and that he's not talking or meeting any girls. Basically, she's captured and taken control of his life. 0_0 I really like to help him because i believe he deserves freedom. Now, if she skips counselling service (even though her doctor told her to go), what else can we do? "Cherish your happy moments, for they make a fine cushion at old age..."

Faithful, I had trouble getting rid of my ex. What I did was put him in touch with a therapist, made him go the first time, then stopped taking his calls. When he came over threatening to commit suicide in front of me and the kids, I told him to go back to his therapist because I couldn't help him. I told him I didn't feel strong enough emotionally to give what he needed. I closed the door on him. He started driving by the house at all hours and days but I just ignored him. Once or twice he broke into the house accusing me of all sorts of things, so I'd pick up the phone and would call the police. He'd always leave before they got there. Wherever I went, he was there. When I remarried, he would call on the phone and since we had two kids between us, I'd pick up. If he started giving me grief, I'd tell him the conversation was over and I'd hang up. He finally got it. Just tell your friend not to take on her responsibility for herself. It's a crap shoot but that's the only way he's going to get rid of her.

![]() But thanks for your help SeptemberMorn. You see, we are currently studying in University. My guy friend has 3 more years to fully graduate from University and this means 3 years of torture for him. 0_0 The thing is, this 'ex' has also been affecting his studies really badly (if you still need more details, i've also replied in the 'self-injury' section).
