Last Friday my father and my grandfather went to a walk in the afternoon. I joined them later. Then my father stopped by the fruit shop and grandfather and I walked on, back to home. There was some muddy patch on the street and grandfather held out his hand to me to support him, so that he may not slip.

At that moment as I held his hand, I remembered when I was a child, he used to hold my hand while we were on the street; and now after twenty years, we have switched sides. And while I was holding his hand, I said to myself, the good thing and the blessing is that we are still holding hands of each other; it does not matter who needs a hand and who is holding out one!

It really made me feel something, hard to explain. I thought of sharing it with you people.

Thanks for listening!

Makes me wish I had a little more time with my own grandfather, and in a strange way it sort of did give me another moment with him. Thanks for posting

(((((Zilch)))))

I was going to respond earlier, when I originally read this post, but I just couldn't.

Reading this was so touching that it just made me cry. I cried because I remember walking hand in hand with my Grandfather when I was a child....unfortunately, he passed away when I was eight. But those memories remain somewhere deep, and when I read this I not only could see us both walking together, but I also grieved the fact that I will never be allowed the same experience of being there to support him in his elder years. I'm glad you had that moment with him.

Life comes full circle in so many different ways. Thank you for reminding me of that.

Your post was beautiful.

How wonderfully inspiring.
Your story exactly states how the cycle of life is never ending.
I loved that.
