So I seem to have this habit of locking onto people who seemingly have a negative effect on me. I don't know why I do this because then I end up pushing away all the people who have a positive effect on me. Is it denial? Is it because I want them to quit treating me like that? Why why why? The thing is I don't even open my mouth when i get wronged or spoke down to I just let it happen.

Self sabotage? Self punishment? The negative people are more exciting?
Sounds like something for therapy.

Sometimes we 'attract' these kinds of people because we think we can change or help them somehow -- we tend to be "fixers." Others think that they deserve to be treated badly so they hang around people who treat them badly and use them -- it usually comes from how they were brought up as children.

There can be all kinds of reasons for why we attract "bad" people. Talking to a therapist would be the best way to figure out why this happens all the time, and the best way to find out how to STOP it from happening!! Therapy has worked for me in just about all situations. Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee
