So I seem to have this habit of locking onto people who seemingly have a negative effect on me. I don't know why I do this because then I end up pushing away all the people who have a positive effect on me. Is it denial? Is it because I want them to quit treating me like that? Why why why? The thing is I don't even open my mouth when i get wronged or spoke down to I just let it happen.

Self sabotage? Self punishment? The negative people are more exciting?
Sounds like something for therapy. |

Sometimes we 'attract' these kinds of people because we think we can change or help them somehow -- we tend to be "fixers." Others think that they deserve to be treated badly so they hang around people who treat them badly and use them -- it usually comes from how they were brought up as children.
There can be all kinds of reasons for why we attract "bad" people. Talking to a therapist would be the best way to figure out why this happens all the time, and the best way to find out how to STOP it from happening!! ![]() |
