I want to hear any of your stories about meeting the opposite sex on the Internet.
Yeah, I've met a few.....
Actually, I could write a BOOK!!!
Living alone in a small town, not inclined to go out much (not a barfly, me!), teaching middle school students, I have posted my profile a few times over the 8 years of my singlehood since divorce. I see the "success stories" advertised on the singles' sites, but now I am cynical! I liken these sites to casting a hook into the ocean and pulling up who knows what kind of monster!!!
Now I am alone and a "weaving nun!" and liking it!!!

I met my husband online. So I guess I would say it worked out well for me. Internet Relationships II I realize I am one of the lucky ones though.

I have heard many stories ...ranging from utterly crazy .. like the most recent ..where my friends cousin went on a first date and the girl was 9 months pregnant .. lol yes 9 months pregnant .. she left that part out.

Then I actually have 2 friends who are getting married this fall who met online...one on match.com and the other on eharmony.

I've met my b/f online ...although we have a lot of issues...it would be the same had we met offline. I've met a few people very interested in a long term relationship, great people too. One I'm very close friends with.

I think that there are people out there...it's just a matter of finding the right one if that's what your looking for...it's just not always easy ...be it "online" or "offline".

Take care
Eva

I gotta tell y'all - I would probably NEVER meet anyone I talked to in an online-only relationship. I'm that paranoid.

But, if you do, meet in a public, well-lit place for the first dates, or better yet, make it a group or double date... take your own transportation & don't agree to go anywhere alone w/the other person right away.

It's kind of like accepting a drink from a stranger in a bar. Anymore, it's not entirely safe, unless it's an unopened beer.
