i learned that people will help a stranger, will go out of their way for anybody except if you have a mental problem.
ive learned that people are really stupid, if somebody has mental problems, why would you push them into a fight? i get that a LOT.they call me crazy while trying to get me to fight. stupid.
i learned that most people just need basic things, like a sympathetic ear when we are down, unfortunatly, i havent learned how to get someone to listen.dont they get that all we need is someone to ask how we feel that day? give us a hug, God forbid! its not contageous!
i learned people with mental health issues are better equipted to deal with others when they have problems. even though they still will avoid us when we need a friend the most, we still help.( why do we do that? im guilty)
ive learned that, unfortunatly, ill always be outside looking inside to the rest of the world, they seem to have this community that i just cant seem to get into, i may as well have 'nuts' tattooed on my forhead.
at least im learing im not the only one, forums like this are great!
anybody else?

dear Bugged,,, i heard this story once, it has stayed with me since: an "Upright Citizen" saw Mother Theresa tending to the homeless sick and dying, oozing with open sores and other diseases, and they asked her: "How can you bear to touch those people ?" and that Woman replied to them: "They are Christ, in his most Distressing Disguise". one tries to see the good in all others, no matter how they present themselves, not always very successfully, but intently and with unending perserverence. those who torment us are often in great pain and suffering themselves, they do not need our reprobation or distain. and we don't need to generate those feelings, either. who know "WHY" the world is the way it is,, the real question is "What can i do to be at peace with the way things are?" one more thought i will leave you with, i think you will understand it well,, as you say, we are so willing to help: "Wanting is not cured by Getting, but by Giving." i believe you are on the path to a great understanding, and i wish you a swift journey. Gus

One who shows signs of mental aberration is, inevitably, perhaps, but cruelly, shut off from familiar, thoughtless intercourse, partly excommunicated; his isolation is unwittingly proclaimed to him on every countenance by curiosity, indifference, aversion, or pity, and in so far as he is human enough to need free and equal communication and feel the lack of it, he suffers pain and loss of a kind and degree which others can only faintly imagine, and for the most part ignore. ~Charles Horton Cooley
Hello, buggedbybugs. Those who do not understand will not understand if we avoid them like they avoid us.
Thanks for this!

gus, thank you for that, your right, it bugs me that on another forum they all pity themselfs, im not going to do that, i WILL get better, if by nothing else, helping people NOT do stupid things. this morgellons takes a major toll on you, mentaly especially.im not contagous, i dont do drugs, and everybody that sees me assumes i am both. but the other forums, people are killing themselfs, because they think they are freaks..( we are, but i see that in a good way) the things they do to get rid of these sores is chilling, but when the doctors say it 'delusional parasites' they refuse to address that maybe a part is in the mind, at least the toll it takes on you is.
or maybe im wrong, and i am crazy. all i know is i have sores. i didnt before. if its in my mind, give me meds to make it not be in my mind!! i dont want pity, not even looking to 'cash in 'on this either, just looking for understanding when i cant be superwoman. make sense?

to add to the good thoughts already posted...i am careful who i share my MI with. i'm not ashamed. just know a lot of ppl don't understand mental illness. it avoids ppl blaming everything on my bipolar when a lot of the time my behavior is just being human with faults and good traits.
u've got a good attitude, bugs, and with that you can achieve having a fulfilling life. best to you.
oh and welcome to pc!!!!
