I have this very annoying friend who is desperate to date someone...anyone...he doesn't care who it is or what they look like. He is mentally retarded and is not happy unless he's in a sexual relationship. I don't just want to ditch him, but I won't do what he's asking me to do.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do or how to let him down nicely?

you can't mince words here. you must be very straightfoward. you can do that with kindness, but "no, and the answer will never change. please don't discuss this again with me." is what you need to say given the situation you've described. that's my advice at this point. take care, kd

I moved and thought I'd never have to hear from him again...he's been charged with harassment before because he doesn't give up...ever.
Kimmy, I agree that I have to be straight forward with him. I have been in the past but he just doesn't know when to quit.

Take out a court order on the person !! No mess, no fuss, if he persists then he'll get picked up and hopefully sorted out, however, he may well be 'damaged' from what life has dealt us all, it just depends on how we handle it. If he wont listen to reasonable discussion then he obviously needs some sort of help. Take care of you

Don't feel bad because he's retarded. It's no excuse for harrassing you. Treat him like you would with any other guy who pulls that crap on you.
