![]() So over the holiday I am going to see my mother for a brief visit. Today I talk to her on the phone and she says, "On this day you're going to take me to the doctor because I can't drive there myself." I'm sorry?? What the h%@l. I know she feels uncomfortable asking me for things. I know she has a hard time asking anybody for anything. But where is the respect? I took a deep breath and said, "Mom, I would have liked it if you asked me." Then she thinks I'm upset because she's asking for too much. She is SO clueless sometimes. I had to say to her like 5 times... it's not that I mind taking you it's that you didn't ASK me, you TOLD me. But she doesn't listen. It's like she doesn't even get what I'm saying... Arrrggg.

I can understand where you're coming from. It's the same with me and my mom. You get those moments where you just want to tape her mouth shut so she'll shut up and listen. But sometimes I think just speaking very clear and make eye contact helps a bit more for me. Hope all goes well.
