I wrote this poem this weekend. It is about my relationship with my hubby...

Caged Heart

See him, him sitting over there
The one with his hands in his hair.
There he is with no song in his heart
His feelings, his pride all torn apart.

No, he hasn't always been this way
She changed his life forever one day.
There was a time he would sing, laugh and dance
But thanks to her, he hasn't a chance

Cheating, deceit, lies and mistrust
Because of all this, His heart has been crushed
She lied to him, trying to protect his feelings
All she did was prolong his healing

How she wishes for his song to return
Love me, Just love me she yearns
How she wishes she could hear his song once more
From the man she has always adored

There was a time, his song was easy to hear
But it has been gone for at least 2 years
Caged like a bird, he is so silent, so sad
Thinking back now on the life he once had

Now he has a chance to change their life
He is still her husband, She is still his wife
A new job that will take him far, far away
She has vowed, Forever faithful she'll stay

Another country, beyond the setting sun
Maybe, just maybe the wrong will be undone
She knows what it is she wants out of life
Forever her husband, Forever his wife

How she wishes for his song to return
Love me, Just love me she yearns
How she wishes she could hear his song once more
From the man she has always adored

To love him, oh wow, to love him
To need him, oh how she needs him
She will do all she can to make the wrong right
The love she has for him, is well worth the fight

She knows this is something that will take some time
She doesn't care, She has made up her mind
She isn't giving up, She won't let him go
Not letting him leave with his head hung low

Maybe one day his song will come back strong
And they can forget all of the wrong
No longer will his heart be crushed
No more cheating, deceit, lies or mistrust

Caged no more, he will be able to sing
Happiness and joy his laughter will bring
Free from hurt, pain, and sorrow
He will finally be able to look forward to tomorrow

How she wishes for his song to return
Love me, Just love me she yearns
How she wishes she could hear his song once more
From the man she has and will always adore

that is really very beautiful.....please continue to assure your husband of how much he is loved....it may take a very long time for him to heal but he will and life will be good again....
