Im putting this here cos its about relating and seems to fit here given this is all about relationships. But when I post Im inviting all members to have their say. I dont need to be "asked" if I want to hear what the person thinks. Im sorta saying, "heres my problem/feeling, what do you think/feel"

Is the whole point not that its up for discussion.? Ive put it out there and Im asking for replies. Im not asking for people to ask me if I "want" them to reply.

Im sorry if im not making sense here. Im just saying that threads are there to be replied to and I dont understand why anyone would ask if I want them to reply. Just reply if you want and dont if you dont.

Sorry if this doesnt make any sense. Does anyone feel the same as me?

Audrey

yes

But I want a reply that is a reply not a series of questions. It's ok to ask a question once to try to clarify but when I only get questions taht doesn't help me.

I do understand.

It is frustrating at times, especially when you really need support and a game of twenty questions starts up. Why do we start a new thread?

exactly. Its frustrating isnt it. You post something and you expect to hear what people think and feel. I question when I dont understand, but when all i get is questions about wither or not I want the person to reply..................................... well I dont know where to go with it. All I want is for the person to read it, and if they feel they have something useful to say then go ahead and post.

It is OK for the person to disagree with me, to tell me I am wrong but when its just a series of questions then I get stuck with it.

{{{{{{{{{{{AllTheGirls}}}}}}}}}}}}} I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! It's infuriating and of absolutely NO support at all! To me, it's like someone showing me a piece of candy and asking if I want it WHEN I ALREADY ASKED IF ANYONE HAD SOME!!!! GEEEEEEEZ!!

Consider the source and forget it, Hun.

I find I get caught up in something quite different when it gets into a series of questions that feel like they are going no where. Its like being taken on a walk somewhere and having no clue where the final destination is. And at the end of the day its a thread and the whole purpose of a thread is for people to reply to what ever was asked.

I really want to say that if I post, anyone can answer, noone need ask my permission. I dont own the board or the thread. As soon as I post it belongs to everyone and everyone has as much right to reply. But there is no need to ask first

Ive never used ignore and a part of me wants to avoid doing that. But I can understand and accept that others do want to use it. Thats OK.

I just want honest open replies and not ones that tie me up in someone elses knots. Its just that it defeats the whole object of the exercise if people ask if they can reply then reply with a whole series of unrelated and off base questions.

Its confusing and debilitating for me. Makes me stop in my tracks and I just get confused.

Im not saying people have to agree with how I feel, i just want them to share their experience if they want to and not keep asking if they can.

You don't suppose that maybe you're trying to get this person to change, are you? It won't happen. The only thing you can change is how YOU respond to posts. You don't have to use the Ignore button, just don't read the posts by this person. If your thread gets hijacked by people not responding to you, then you can get the thread back on track with a gentle reminder. Why do we start a new thread?

Petunia,

That is it in a nut shell. You have said in that one little sentence what Ive been stumbling about trying to say. If a question is answered with a question then where exactly does it get anyone?

I just want to know what people think and feel in relation to the post/thread and Im willing to listen to anyone. If they want to interact with me I will with them, as long as its healthy and appears to be moving in a forward direction.

--- please do not post to me I will not reply to why....

It will stop

Now I have to say Petunia I LOVE the space ship

sleeps,

I suppose you are right. It is possible to say that, it just sorta makes me feel sad and like im being rude or something.

I hate the thought of hurting someone, but when its at the expense of how its making me feel then I suppose its a real option.

Its just that this place is about discussions and some of the interactions I have are wonderful (you always make me laugh out loud when you are on a "funny" roll). Its just wondeful when the conversation flows and all these feeling get expressed and people join in and say how they feel. Its relating, its communicating, then its.................................................................................... the jeopardy game!

Lol on the TV game....It is not rude as on the board I am use to and this poster is use to it is common to nicely ask someone not to post to them..done in a nice way..I think it would be ok as people from that site get that often..ignore buttons do not exist or didnt

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
