I was telling AJ's dad that AJ has been dating a girl that is a year older than AJ.. And that she makes almost twice as much money as AJ. That she is very beautiful and mature . I thought this would make AJ's dad happy as I am very happy AJ is dating someone around his own age instead of those 22 year olds.

WELL... AJ's dad said he was making a big mistake. He said when the "girl" is 40 she will start looking older than AJ. He said when a woman has babies and "other things", the woman ages faster than the men.

I said, OMG, don't you dare tell AJ that.. If a man really "loves" a woman, and they are growing older together, and maybe she gets a few wrinkles or gains l0 pounds, that man that really loves her won't mind one bit. If a guy in his 60's wants a trophy bride, he is going to be paying "deep" in his pockets to keep her.. lol

Funny thing is AJ's dad had a "face lift", surgery on his eyes so he doesn't need glasses.. Grant it, he might look younger in the face, but I guarantee you when he takes his clothes off, his body will be that of a 60 year old man... lolllllllllll especially those skinny legs he has..

I told him when I was 53 my 37 year old boss was hitting on me... Wasn't until he found out my age, lol, that he stopped "pampering me" and always checking to see if I needed anything....... lol......... He had no idea I was that old and he ran when he found out which I thought was sooooo funny.........I always looked younger than my age except when I wasn't happy. When happy I looked pretty good.. When not happy I looked really awful.....

Even these days folks are surprised when they learn my age. I will be adding another year to my age this week and perhaps I don't look 30 anymore, but then who cares... I know I don't... lol

It's not surprising why AJ has in the past devoted much time to younger women...AJ's dad sounds like he is really into looks.

Plus he loves me and isn't shallow and that beauty is only skin deep.

I guess you could say AJ's dad is into good looking women.. He has dated beautiful women but I guess things didn't work out because he is still single..AJ's dad is a good person and works very hard..He just needs to realize he isn't 30 anymore .. lol...

Well, I spent an hour maybe more talking to AJ's new girlfriend. Boy, she can talk. The most important thing, in my opinion, is that AJ says she has a good heart.. I like her. I think she likes AJ too as she is bringing him food. Best way to a man's heart is through his stomach, is what they say. Maybe that is why I wasn't successful in relationships as I am a lousy cook.. lol Second best thing is she doesn't drink.. I like that because all the previous girls wanted to go to clubs and get drunk and of course AJ was more than willing to please.. I have nothing against alcohol, just in moderation, please... Ya don't have to get drunk to have a good time...ANyway, AJ might have hit the jack pot as not only is she good hearted, she works and makes good money and she is beautiful....

Flooded...I think it is great AJ's new girlfriend is older than him.. Might keep him in line And I agree, when a person really loves their "mate", it shouldn't matter what they look like as long as they enjoy each other's company and of course love each other..........

Direction....Guess you could say AJ's dad is into "good looking women"..I think he learned his lesson a few years ago when he was planning on getting married to a much younger woman.. She took him for $100,000 and broke his heart... So he is much more careful these days...I think

Cute post radio flyer. Happy AJ has met a nice woman and it's funny AJ's dad would be saying this, since she's only 1 year older lol. Sounds like things are going well for AJ and you sound happier. How's his job going? It's great you're on good terms with your ex.

AJ has really changed and I might add, changed for the better.. He likes working and he got half of a paycheck so he likes working even better. lol.. He has been doing great. Except for yesterday as he started getting sick and I think it hit him big time last night. Fever, chills, no energy...He went to work this morning but I think he may come home early as he is pretty sick. His g/f kept an eye on him, that is, when she wasn't talking to me.. ANYway, I hope he does come home early. Is better to fight it with getting lots of rest and lots of fluids at home.. I like to try to nip things in the bud before it gets so bad that you end up in bed for a week...

We don't fight anymore which makes me very happy. We actually can have a conversation without screaming and shouting...I think he is starting to feel more "confident" in himself which is a good thing...

I work in the yard "when it isn't 95 degrees, which means I am physically exhuated. AJ is tired when he gets home from work which means we are both too tired to argue and we both need our own space in the evening.. So things are good around here ..

No problem radio flyer. I'm so oblivious that I didn't notice either one of the typos. Typos happen to me a lot -I'll type what I think is a reasonably intelligent post, then go back and blush or laugh at myself lol

((radio flyer)) I'm happy for you and AJ. He did something you couldn't do for him, and he achieved something you couldn't give him. It's hard for a guy to feel like a man, much less his own man, when he's still under the roof of his mother. Now with a job and life of his own, he can be his own man - even if he's still under your roof.

His gf sounds like a sweetheart. I believe you when you say your husband is a good man, but he appears a bit shallow. I hope AJ does not follow in your husband's footsteps. Hopefully your influence will make a difference AJ's life and relationship with women.

I think it's funny your ex commented on the one-year age difference too. One year wouldn't make a difference. Even if it did, aging looks is no excuse for breaking vows. My elderly neighbors have been married for over 40 years - she's nine years older than her husband. She likes to brag she landed a "young stud," and he truly adores his "old lady."

I hope AJ's feeling better soon.
Thanks for this!

You are so very right Kathy.. I guess the bottom line is AJ had to do it on his own. Which he did and he feels good that he took that first step and got his foot in the door of a small company...His dad is glowing..

AJ's dad is a tad shallow when it comes to women. He is into good looking women for sure. lol I tell him he needs to find a woman closer to his age and settle down. Then they could grow "older" together and travel and do lots of fun things. I think "an older woman" would only remind him he is getting older and he thinks the way to stay young is to date ladies in their early 30s which would be half his age. I honestly do wish him "happiness" as he deserves it...

AJ is feeling much better today. Still a bit sick but he still went to work. Think his new girl is taking good care of him.. GOsh, first he got a job. Guess next in line is to get married.. Oh dear, and then soon after I'd be a granny.. grins... Gosh, me a granny.. that would be cool

No kidding - a grandchild would be the grand prize! My father used to always say a grandchild is the reward for going through all the headaches of parenting. It was probably his way of saying he'll be a doting grandfather, but don't expect him to raise my child for me, lol. Still, he was an awesome grandfather and he had a lot of fun spoiling my son.

My ex is similar to yours. Physical appearance is very important to him too. He's married now to a woman of Chinese descent. She's not a young woman, but she's much younger than him, and she's very pretty. He commented to me once that he's thankful for her Chinese heritage - because they age well. At the end of our conversation, I told him to say hello to his piece of cheese, lol.

He came into town recently and they stopped over. It was the first time I got to meet her in person. She's a very nice woman, and perfect for him. Lord knows I don't want him back, lol. My ex is a good man too, but he was a lousy husband. If he's a good husband to her, more power to her. I'm thankful he married her because he seems very happy, but she's also very gracious and kind to my son. He and my son have a very close relationship. When my son visits, she does not feel threatened and allows them to have their time together. I truly appreciate this in her. If it had been his other ex (the one he married after me), she would have done everything in her power to sabotage their relationship. That woman STILL hates me, lol.
Thanks for this!

My wife is 2 years older than me. She looks 10 years younger than me though. Sometimes I got strange looks because people would be looking at us like "look at that old man with that young lady." My wife thinks it's funny when I get the "senior" menu and she dosen't. Once she was out to a club with our oldest son, I wasn't there and the people thought she was his wife, nearly floored them when he told them "no she's my Mom."
