I'm tired of always going out of my way to make her happy because I think It'll lead to her giving me more affection.
I'm tired of thinking that I I need affection from others in order to feel happy. I'm tired of putting myself second in order to try and be loved. I'm going to start being more self centered, not a jerk, but I'm just going to stop trying so hard. She isn't going to stop loving me if I don't engulf her so much. She isn't going to stop loving me if I start doing things for me. I am important. If anything, this new view on life, about myself will develop me more as a person. She fell in love with me. Who I am. Before I became so needy and clingy and worried and so incredibly focused on getting attention, what I perceived as affection, from her. I think it's time to develop the me that she fell in love with, and chose over every other guy out there. Today, I'm going to start loving me. Today, I'm going to start being happy with me, and recognize that I am important. Today I'm going to know that I can focus on me, and that she'll still be there to love me. That is all. |

The focus on yourself sounds very healthy. And I wouldn't be surprised if it leads to very positive changes in your relationship.
![]() If we don't learn to like and love ourselves first, all of our relationships with others will falter.

Hi ~ This sounds like a good plan. If you don't love YOURSELF, you certainly can't love other people.
We are the only ones who can REALLY take care of us. It's important for us to realize that we matter too! I hope this new outlook works for you --- it certainly can't hurt. Good luck & God bless!! Hugs, Lee |

Yes, I also completely agree with that. Taking some time to yourself can be a great way to understand who you are and what you want. Try taking up meditation
