I did so appreciate the responses I received from all of you. I have had two good nights' sleep, which is a good sign I'm not suffering anxiety.
I may have mentioned that the other teachers in my school avoid the woman, at all costs, if they have a concern or question, for fear of such ridicule. In my naive and trusting state, I have felt one should be able to go to the principal with questions/concerns. I will never do so in the future. My mode of operation in the future will be to avoid at all costs, like everyone else does. It is interesting that after the incident happened, with her making two announcements over the intercom directed at me, that several teachers, even the assistant principal, made a point of making positive comments to me about the student art I had hung for display in the hallways. The principal has NEVER done so over several years, not that I need such feedback. I know what I'm doing and I do a good job. I did apply for another position currently being advertised in our state, but others have withstood this same kind of abuse and hung in there, and are still present at our school. Again, thanks to all of you who gave me your kind feedback! Patty ![]() |

i am having problems with a co worker at work, too...but everyone likes her except me. and ignoring her isn't an option. ha! it's great that you have other people who feel the same about this person. and sheesh!! my mom is a teacher, and i can't imagine her principal making an announcement like that! good luck, and i'm sure you can all make it through together
