I am not good at putting my thoughts in writing, but I really do need some advice. I seem to be feeling like I can’t do anything right as far as my husband. It seems like no matter what I do it isn’t right. I can’t go to a store 5 minutes away by myself or it hurts his feelings, I watch TV with him for at least 2 hrs every evening & when I get on the computer he gets down. If I don’t go to bed when he does, which I do most of the time, he thinks that is a crime. I have a 17 yr old daughter that needs me too & I can’t just sit on the couch with him for hours & then go to bed with him every night. I feel like I am going crazy!!! And I have even told him & went to see his psych with him; I don’t know what else to do.

Hi ~ This is definitely HIS problem, not yours. He has separation anxiety for some reason -- probably from his childhood. He needs to delve into this with his therapist.

All you can do is keep reassuring him that you love him, BUT you have to have your space too -- and you have a daughter that needs your love & time too. You cannot ALWAYS be by his side holding his hand! He has to learn to be by himself SOME of the time -- otherwise he won't make it in this world.

Let him know that those times in the evening are the ONLY times you get to have by yourself -- and you NEED those times. Everyone needs time to be alone. But keep reassuring him --- sounds like he needs alot of that. I don't know what else to tell you. HE needs to work on this. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee
Thanks for this!
